Ashley Graham has been making waves in the fashion industry. Aside from being the face of plus-size clothing giant Lane Bryant, she has also appeared on a number of high-fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Glamour. She was also the first-ever plus-size model to appear on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
But now, the 5’9″ model is stepping up her game by unveiling her own lingerie line with Canadian retail brand Addition Elle. Not only does Ashley Graham model the lingerie pieces in photos, but she made sure to showcase the collection in the runway at New York Fashion Week.
Ashley Graham Leads NYFW 2016
Ashley Graham has always been a prominent figure when it comes to pushing diversity in fashion. So it was only fitting for the model to join in the ranks of other designers who are shedding light to full-figured women. Graham had this to say during the show:
“It’s a time in the industry when people are given the opportunity to make change, and we’re really seeing who is actually doing it and who’s not.”
Before the show began, Addition Elle released their campaign that featured Ashley Graham together with high-profile plus-size models Sabina Karlsson, Marquita Pring, and Precious Lee, among others. The F* This campaign aim to bring “fashion democracy” toward women of all shapes and sizes.
The fashion industry has long been criticized for failing to recognize diversity, so Ashley Graham’s collection was surely a pivotal moment for everyone involved. The 28-year-old model simply conquered the runway as she strutted in sleek underwear designs. She jokingly the described the show, “Sheer, creams, lace, bondage—we’ve got dog collars for the freaks at home.” Other notable pieces included are ready-to-wear office attires and cocktail dresses filled with sequins.
Shortly after the show, Ashley Graham made sure to thank Addition Elle for the great opportunity through her Instagram page.

Additionally, Graham wants women to embrace their body size. She has this inspiring message for everyone out there:
“For any girl or woman who has ever felt that they weren’t represented in fashion/TV/media because of your size, you are now and forever will be! #beautybeyondsize.”
