Ad platform has been certified kidSAFE+ and COPPA compliant by the kidSAFE Seal Program

DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA APRIL 20, 2016 – Playwire Media, the largest online representation firm for reaching gaming and entertainment enthusiasts online, today announced that its ad platform, Kids Club, has been certified kidSAFE+ and COPPA compliant, the highest standard of online safety and privacy granted by the kidSAFE Seal Program. Kids Club is now the second largest COPPA compliant children’s network.

“At Playwire Media, we understand and appreciate how sensitive marketing to children can be,” said Jayson Dubin, CEO, Playwire Media. “Achieving kidSAFE+ certification and COPPA compliance was critical to our continuous efforts to provide a safe, educational and enjoyable online experience for kids and parents alike.”

In order to achieve kidSAFE+ and COPPA certification, Playwire Media’s Kids Club demonstrated compliance with over 70 individual requirements related to safety and privacy, including COPPA and many best-practice safety standards (as applicable). Some of these measures include:

Measures to ensure ad content is age-appropriate and served in a manner compliant with COPPA

Procedures for handling advertising-related issues and complaints

Data integrity and security procedures

COPPA-compliant privacy policy

COPPA oversight and enforcement by the kidSAFE® Seal Program

“kidSAFE is thrilled to add Playwire Media to our growing network of trusted brands and service providers in the kids’ media industry,” said Shai Samet, Founder and President of kidSAFE. “We were highly impressed with Playwire Media’s commitment to creating and preserving a safe and appropriate ad service for its customers, especially at a time when monetization has become essential to the survival of kids’ online publishers.”

The kidSAFE+ and COPPA compliance seal is an FTC-approved “Safe Harbor” and COPPA certification program for which kidSAFE has also verified their compliance with additional “COPPA Privacy Rules”. These rules are modeled after the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule, a U.S. federal privacy law commonly referred to as “COPPA” or the “COPPA Rule”.
