It seems like every Wonder Festival Good Smile Company announces at least one big, fancy figure of Miku Hatsune. It’s almost tradition! This year it was Deep Sea Girl Miku, a design popular enough to get a Petit Nendoroid on top of a scaled figure. I’m sure there are people moaning “oh no not more Miku!” but let’s be realistic here. She sells, and not only does she sell: usually a good chunk of their top yearly best sellers are Miku. And this is a gorgeous version of her!
I like that it’s a more mature version of the bubbly diva, who is usually shown in more childish ways like their HSP Miku or Racing Miku 2012. This also doesn’t exactly scream “pop diva”, it’s a more natural take that I am loving! The sculpt is sharp and clean, even though it’s clearly not finished, and I adore the diorama base. Let’s just hope the paint does it justice!
