Duello Games is bringing one of the most popular slashing/quick-fingered swiping games to Android in early 2016. iSlash is back by popular demand with a sequel entitled iSlash 2. The game is currently soft-launched in India, Israel and Australia. The worldwide release for Android/iOS is expected to occur in January 2016.

[UPDATE: Saturday, February 20th - 3:27 AM, PST]: The popular iSlash series has returned, and is now available to download in the Google Play Store. It has also undergone a bit of a name change since we originally reported on the story. The new title is iSlash Heroes. The first iSlash game was quite enjoyable to play and we expect to have even more fun with this title. The game is free-to-play and does include optional in-app purchases. The link to download the game can be found at the end of this article.

The first iSlash game was published a few years ago by Bulkypix. This time around, Duello Games is at the helm of the ship. The other game they released for Android some time ago, was a cute little puzzle game called Trip Trap. The first iSlash game is still available in the Play Store. If you haven't had an opportunity to check out the finger-swiping frenzy, you really should.

The goal of the game is to whittle (cut) down the board to the smallest piece possible. You swipe away pieces of the board, while Ninja throwing stars are randomly bouncing off the walls. The challenge to the game is that you have to eliminate the pieces without separating the group of stars that inhabit the puzzle. It can get pretty tricky in a hurry. Duello Games has upped the ante quite a bit by including an enormous amount of puzzles and traps that appear on each board.

"Turn up your ninja senses, sharpen your slashing skill! The #1 slashing puzzle iSlash is back with new deadly gameplay elements, fearless bosses, stunning graphics and lots of challenging levels! Be Warned! iSlash 2 features the same addictive slashing gameplay that kept millions of ninjas awake! And now it's packed with new features, new enemies and new challenges." - Duello Games

I spent quite a fair amount of time playing the first iSlash game. It was fun, tricky and there were a lot of levels to play. Duello Games seems to have added just the right amount of challenges and dropped in a ton of levels to boot. The game has 2 modes and 200 puzzles to conquer.

It appears the game will be free to play with optional in-app purchases. It has been a while since I played the first game, but it wasn't plagued with a free-to-play structure that hampered the gameplay. If you are India, Israel and Australia, you can check out the game right now on Android or iOS. For those of us in the rest of the world, the game is expected to come out next month. While it looks like it will be a dual release, since the game is in soft-launch for Android and iOS, we haven't confirmed that just yet. Though we feel fairly hopeful that it will be a dual release.

January is shaping up to be a good month for new games. If you have some time off during the holidays, you may want to do a few finger-swiping exercises to get ready for the Ninja challenges that await you on your device. iSlash 2 is coming soon, and we couldn't be more excited to try it out. Once the game is released, we will let you know! If you live in India, Israel or Australia, you can download the game now as part of its soft launch.
