AirAsia to Macau Flight Experience

We love to travel to Macau. For the past few years, we visited Macau four times. We flew direct from Kuala Lumpur to Macau with AirAsia three times and we flew from Hong Kong once.

Based on our experience traveling to Macau, it is highly recommended to fly direct from Kuala Lumpur to Macau. It is inconvenient to travel in from Hong Kong as you need to take a taxi to the pier, take the ferry and checked in via Macau International Ferry Terminal.

We prefer to fly direct to Macau International Airport and AirAsia offers up to three flights per day. It depends on your schedule but on our recent trip, we booked flight AK188 from Kuala Lumpur to Macau and flight AK187 from Macau to Kuala Lumpur.

The reason we chose flight AK188 because the flight is at 12.35 pm (noon) and it reaches Macau at 4.10 pm. We do not need to rush to airport and checking in at 10.35 am means we avoided the morning rush hour and by the time we reached Macau at 4.10 pm, we can easily check in the hotel with the evening to spare.

For the flight coming back to Kuala Lumpur, flight AK187 departs from Macau at 6.30pm so we still have half day in Macau and reached Macau International Airport at 4.30pm. We usually checked out in the hotel and left our luggage at concierge and took the hotel’s free airport transfer to the airport. The beauty of AK187 is we reached Kuala Lumpur at 10.15pm and usually reached home before midnight.

AirAsia recently launched their new menu and it is the best to pre book meals online as you can order food like Chicken Satay and Lasagne.

If you plan to visit Macau, we will recommend AirAsia as the first choice as it flies direct from Kuala Lumpur to Macau.

We have been flying with AirAsia for years and we flew with them to other destinations too. Hence, in recent years we flew from Kuala Lumpur to Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Macau. We also flew with AirAsiaX from Kuala Lumpur to Australia and Japan. Lastly, we are looking for to fly with AirAsia and AirAsiaX soon!
