KARACHI: Customs clearing agents have announced that they are not part of strike launched by Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) and they are not supporting it.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) denied their association in protest launched by PIFFA against revised sales tax on federal services.

However, KCAA said that the government should resolve their demand as cargo handling at ports and terminals had been stuck up and causing losses to stakeholders.

The clearing agents’ associations said that in case the protest takes more days it will result in port congestion.
