There are two Pivots left before we close down our 2013-14 season for the summer. We have stories, a novel-in-progress, and poetry, but really these four are generalists, not specialists, and if we see bits of non-fiction and memoir thrown in there it won’t surprise me. Almost 100% certain it’ll be patio weather. But as always, no promises and check the sky before you go outside.

Cast List:

Jason Guriel‘s books include The Pigheaded Soul: Essays and Reviews on Poetry and Culture (2013) and Pure Product (2009). His work has been anthologized in The Best Canadian Poetry in English. In 2007, he became the first Canadian to be awarded Poetry’s Frederick Bock Prize. Poetry gave him their Editors Prize for Book Reviewing in 2009. His newest is Satisfying Clicking Sound, from Vehicule Press.

Chris Hutchinson was born in Montreal, grew up in Victoria, and now lives in Houston, Texas. He is the author of four full-length books of poetry and several chapbooks. The newest among them is Jonas in Frames (2014, Goose Lane).

Melanie Mah is a freelance writer in Toronto and a graduate of the University of Guelph MFA in Creative Writing. Her first novel, The Sweetest One, arrives in spring 2015.

Shane Neilson is a writer and a family physician. His previous books include Meniscus, Gunmetal Blue, and Complete Physical, which was short listed for the Trillium Poetry Award. Neilson has published essays and reviews in many Canadian literary magazines and newspapers. He lives in Guelph, Ontario.
