November is Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month and I am proud to be partnering with New Zealand's Best and The Mr. Mo Project to raise awareness and funds for senior dog rescue.
Ruby was seven or eight when we adopted her in 2013. She was removed from her former home, along with several other dogs because of severe neglect. As a result of her rough start in life, she has chronic immune system issues as well separation anxiety. In the real world, an older dog with issues would have a slim chance of adoption. Fortunately for Ruby and us, our house is not the real world. You can read more of her story here.
New Zealand’s Best helping restore mobility in dogs, cats, and horses
I was recently contacted by Melissa Burrus, owner of New Zealand's Best, the U.S. distributor of Technyflex® , a natural joint care supplement for dogs, cats, and horses. Although well-regarded in New Zealand, Technyflex® has only been available in the United States since September. However, the product has already received rave reviews from customers and was recently an Editor's Choice by Modern Dog Magazine. Melissa asked if Ruby would like to try the canine supplement and share the results with her readers. As Ruby sometimes struggles with morning stiffness, the timing seemed right and we agreed.
Technyflex® Canine is made from the green lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus) that grows only in the pure ocean waters of New Zealand. This little shellfish has a unique combination of nutrients including omega-3 essential fatty acids, glucosaminoglycans (GAG’s), and naturally occurring minerals and vitamins that together have amazing anti-inflammatory properties. It is available in both capsule and powder form. You can read more about the product as well as customer reviews here.

Melissa and I soon realized that we shared a love of rescue and adoption and decided to expand our partnership to raise awareness for Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month. She offered to donate a portion of each sale generated by the code PIP15 to The Mr. Mo Project. Additionally, she provided Technyflex® to current Mr. Mo Project Dog, Diamond. Some of you may remember Diamond from my post last February.

Founded in 2011, The Mr. Moe Project is an organization that works to save senior dogs at risk of euthanasia in shelters nationwide. It was started by Chris and Mariesa Hughes in honor of their beloved senior dog Mr. Mo. They currently have over 75 senior dogs in foster homes. Because these dogs are seniors, many have medical issues. They always need donations, big and small, to help cover veterinary care!
Diamond and Ruby both started Technyflex® earlier this week and will be reporting their results in mid-December. Stay tuned! Melissa has been lovely to work with and clearly has a genuine love of dogs and commitment to canine health. I encourage everyone to visit New Zealand's Best website and follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
You can learn more about The Mr. Mo Project on their website and by following them on Facebook. There are hundreds of senior dogs in shelters across the country waiting and hoping for rescue. Please consider adopting or fostering a senior dog or cat or making a donation to The Mr. Mo Project in honor of Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month.
Want to try Technyflex®? Use code PIP15 for 15% off your order. A portion of sales will be donated to The Mr. Mo Project.
