Raees, one of the most-anticipated film of the year, is finally releasing tomorrow i.e January 25 and fans are eagerly waiting to see Shah Rukh Khan stepping into the shoes of Raees. Well, if the movie is about a goon, the music should be jhakaas and upbeat. The filmmakers have finally shared the jukebox and here's our review:

Laila Main Laila

Laila main laila aisi hoon laila,
Har koi chahe mujhse milna akela,
Jisko bhi dekhu duniya bhula doon,
Majnu bana du aisi main laila!

Recreated or revised versions are a sure shot hit these days. Just like The Humma Song from Ok Jaanu created the right noise, Laila Main Laila did the same for Raees. The track is recreated from the song Laila O Laila of the 1980 film, Qurbani. Pawni Pandey's vocals have added that seductive touch to the song and made it more relatable to the current generation. Trumpets and Bass do the rest of the job and make you groove to the beats of the number. Interestingly, Ram Sampath has managed to retain the original flavour of it.

Zaalima

Next in line is Arijit Singh and Harshdeep Kaur's Zaalima! Music is given by JAM8 and the lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya are simply outstanding - Jo teri khatir tadpe pehle se hi, Kya usse tadpana o zaalima, o zaalima! The arrangement of musical instruments like drums, harmonium, acoustic guitar and electric guitar takes the level of the song a notch higher. For those who don't what is zaalima, it means oppressor and the choice of Urdu words like martaba, iitr and fasaana give it a poetic touch.

The last line - Tu hi bata de Kyu zaalima main keh layi - just takes it all and you can't help but praise the song.

Udi Udi Jaye

Udi Udi Jaye - finally, we have another famous song which will be played in Navratri Dandiya nights!  Sukhwinder Singh, Bhoomi Trivedi & Karsan Sagathia, with their voice, will win your over. There's a section where you'll hear mandolin and it's just mashallah. Then, you have Gujarati lyrics and you start imagining yourself playing dandiya with your partner in those ethnic outfits.

Dhingana

An apt song for a Don's entry! Dhingana will give you the same vibes as you had in the title track of SRK's film Don. You get to hear the background score too which you heard in the trailer. Guitar, bass and drums ups the tempo level. Mika Singh gives Dhingana a typical mawaali touch and you will just love the track!

Enu Naam Che Raees

Zara dhyan se suno,
Enu naam che Raees,
Akkhi duniya mein yeh ek,
Single piece single piece...
Miyan bhai ka hai daring,
Aur ye baniya ka dimaag,
Bheje mein hai total thandak!

Here comes the title track of Raees and no doubt it's a situational song, but a power-packed one! Sung by Ram Sampath and Tarannum Malik, Enu Naam Che Raees speaks out the message loudly - dhanda ganda ho jaisa bhi ho, dhanda hai. If you're a music buff, you would love the portion where you get to hear Uilleann Pipe. Hats off!

Saanson Ke

Starting with the tunes of piano and clarinet, Saanson Ke, sung by KK, is the emotional track of Raees and it will make you teary-eyed. Acoustic guitar and flute will give it sentimental touch! Loved it..

Ghammar Ghammar

Sung by Roshan Rathod, Ghammar Ghammar is a fun Gujarati number and even if you can't understand the language, you would still enjoy the music.

In a nutshell, Ram Sampath has created an album of the year. The jukebox is an entertainer in all sense as it has all the elements - romantic vibes, mawaali song, item number and a traditional track.

We give it 80 out of 100 on Pinkvilla meter!
