Badrinath Ki Dulhania starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan traces the story of Vaidehi and Badri. The film released on March 10 and the powerhouse performances of both Alia and Varun have been appreciated by both the critics and the viewers as well.
The film earned INR 12 crore on Day 1 and on the second day, it has minted INR 14.25 crore. In total, Badrinath Ki Dulhania has raked in INR 26.25 crore in two days of its release. The film is expected to do well even today but might be affected tomorrow as it's Holi. Going by the figures, it can be said that Varun and Alia are set to have a Happy Holi.
The success of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (the film's prequel) and positive word of mouth has indeed helped the film to rake in money at the ticket windows.
In an interview, director Shashank Khaitan had said, “Badri is the one we love to hate, the chauvinist, and Vaidehi is also one whom we love to hate, who is apparently a feminist, and then try to get them on the same level for love. How can these two characters ever fall in love? How can they ever try to lead a simple life? That’s been the journey. That’s done in the most commercial way I could. By telling the story, not with sorrow but with joy."
