Rajasthan is a state that truly lives up to the axiom “Atithi Devo Bhava.” The multicolored festivals and royal history with noble fortresses and shrines narraes the stories of the splendid history of Royal Rajasthan!! Rajasthan creates a center of attraction among thousands of international voyagers year by year for its wonderful history, culture and vibrant festivals. On March 30th, 2014 Rajasthan commemorates its 64th Foundation Day. The Rajasthan Government has planned a mixture of classical and cultural events for the voyagers in addition to the inhabitants of the Pink city of Jaipur.

Rajasthan, the territory of combatants and romance was instigated on March 30th, 1949. This year, Rajasthan will commemorate its 64th foundation day with innumerable keenness and fervor. Throughout Rajasthan, there are a variety of cultural events on the celebration of 64th foundation day. In order to mark this fortunate day, every district headquarters of Rajasthan will conduct abundant competitions such as art, drawing, music, rallies, dance and other colorful programs. In major metropolises of Rajasthan such as, Jaipur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Alwar, Jodhpur, Kota etc the local administrations organizes a number of events which exhibits the arts and culture of Rajasthan. Didactic and governmental institutions in Rajasthan also conduct attractive and educative programs to entertain people.

Take a look at the list of events conducted during the 64th Rajasthan foundation day, 2014:

• Puppet show:

The vivacious Puppet shows in the national level were conducted in the “Rangaayan” at ‘Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK)’ starting from 11 A.M in the morning to 12 P.M in the noon on 29th & 30th of March. On March 29, a colorful puppet show from New Delhi was presented by “Kat-Katha Art Show”. In addition, Sudip Gupta from Kolkata presented the “Dolls Theatre” on March 30.

• Sightseeing knowledge tour:

The 2 day Tourism awareness tour merriments have been scheduled for 29th & 30th of March. The tour commenced with a sightseeing awareness programme for special kids. In this tour, the special kids were taken to various historical places such as, Jantar Mantar, City Palace and Albert Hall starting from 9 am to 11.30 am.

• Maha Arti:

A ‘Maha Arti’ was conducted at 4 major destinations of worship to please the religious minded voyagers. The ‘Maha Artis’ at were conducted at 4 religious places like, Gurudwara (Raja Park), Ganesh Ji Temple (Moti Dungri), Mosque (Subhash Chowk) and St Xaviers School Church.

• Classical music performance:

On March 29, the famous singer Shubha Mudgal gave a vocal performance as a treat to the classical music fans. Also, on March 30th, the famous flutist “Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia” entertained the visitors at the Central Park starting from 7.30 PM.

• Bharat Natyam performance:

On 29the March, 2014, a mind blowing Bharat Natyam performance was conducted at 6 pm in the evening. This performance was presented by Devyani, the French National that is based in New Delhi. The event was prearranged by “DOT”. The event was conducted at Rangayan in JKK.

• Food & Craft Marketplace:

There was also a ten-day “Food and Craft Bazaar” at the Shilpgram for the foodies and the handicrafts adorers in JKK starting from March 21st to 30th. The food and craft bazaar was conducted by the “Rural Non Farm Development Agency (RUDA)”. This souk was on from 3 PM to 9.30 PM. Rajasthani folk performances in the marketplace have also been conducted by the famous DOT.

All these wonderful cultural and educative programs started at 10 AM in the morning and continued until 5PM in the evening. Almost 71 artistes took part in this magnificent cultural festival. The twilight on both days observed a mega cultural event, a Kuchipudi dance by Pernia Quresh, the well known dancer. This was followed by a fusion show by Langa Mangniyar, the renowned Kathak dancers.
