I don’t understand why tagging n sfw things is so hard for people.

Like, it takes around four seconds, maybe less, and you could be ensuring someone who’s following you gets to keep their job.

Sure, it might be silly to be on Tumblr at a job when you’re following people who post smut an such, but some people do it anyways, and while it’s a bad decision, it isn’t one someone needs to have their life effed over for.

If you can do everything you can to make your followers safer, even by a tiny amount, why wouldn’t you?

Here’s a question. Shouldn’t you be working instead of surfing on tumblr? Like…You’re at work to..work. If you get fired, that’s no one’s fault but your own. If you’re going to look at a website that is KNOWN for risque and NSFW content at your job, you need to accept the fact that you might get caught in an awkward position if a co-worker, or your boss finds dicks on your monitor.

It’s not the blog creator’s responsibility to make website surfing while you’re on the job safe for YOU, especially when they’ve already taken the steps of keeping their stuff marked as nsfw already, and out of website searches.

Or be more discreet about your website surfing. Tumblr has smartphone apps, and smartphones tend to be a lot more discreet than a computer monitor. :x

Oh man, why are we following this up. Clearly, neither of us are going to change the other’s mind.

I know it’s a dumb choose to go on this site when someone’s at work, and I wouldn’t do it myself, but the process of tagging something takes a few seconds and it’s a little more assurance that your followers are safe.

And it’s not restricted to jobs, someone’s younger siblings may suddenly run into the room with them, or plenty of other reasons.

I do admit that YES looking at Tumblr at a job is a very bad decision, and yes some of these things are unlikely to happen, but you’re clearly tagging your pictures anyways and it doesn’t take much effort to just be a little bit safer, right?

If you don’t want porn popping up on your dashboard, don’t follow tumblr blogs that specifically post that….

You are literally trying to shirk responsibilities as an adult on someone else when they have done THEIR part to keep porn out of the general populace. Porn that DOES pop up on tumblr is either because of a reblog, and you’re watching that person that reblogged, or someone reposts a NSFW artist’s art on their blog, and their blog isn’t tagged as NSFW. To which, I agree with you! If their blog isn’t marked as NSFW, then they should tag it NSFW. But it’s asinine to tell a NSFW blog creator to tag their shit as NSFW when their ENTIRE BLOG IS MARKED AS NSFW.

NNoooo,

The problem is that the program for blocking things picks up a word that would be on the post, and it has nothing to do with what you’re okay with normally, but there are situations where you don’t want nsfw showing up out of the blue!

Please, don’t yell at me, I’m just trying to make things better on people.

I’m trying to keep things calm, because if we both start yelling about this then the entire point will be lost and we’ll just hate each-other before we know anything about the other.

Please just consider what I have to say here:

A person may like nsfw usually, but sometimes it’s not good for it to just pop up without warning. It could get someone fired, in trouble with family, or a number of other things.

If someone follows a nsfw blog and they’re fine with nsfw at all times, they will not block the word “nsfw” on Tumblr Savior, and then it’s just normal! That’s fine!

But some people will, and would rather have control of when they look at it, and being able to just not open a blocked image gives people that.

It doesn’t hurt you at all to tag something, and while people should be looking out for themselves anyways, mistakes happen, and dumb chooses happen, and it would all be a little better on everyone if we looked out for eachother.

Even in silly ways like this one.

Then you use Common Sense.

You follow a NSFW blog(s), don’t surf tumblr while you’re at work/school.

You follow a NSFW blog(s), don’t surf tumblr when you have little kids around, or lock the door so they can’t get in?

You follow a NSFW blog(s), don’t surf tumblr in public if you’re embarrassed that dicks/vaginas/fetish images pop up on your dashboard.

I’m not going to tag every post that I make as NSFW because it’s redundant for me to do so. I’m not going to regulate my blog for someone else because said person doesn’t know how to use common sense when it comes to website surfing.

I’ve been nagged about this time and time again, and my answer is always the same. I have, as my responsibilities as an adult, and a rule-abiding user of this website, marked my blog as inappropriate for children, and not safe to be viewed at work places. I am not going to reblog my posts as NSFW, because I find it redundant, and useless. You, as a responsible adult, need to use your head on when it is or isn’t appropriate to view tumblr, don’t follow NSFW blogs directly, or be more discreet with your viewing if you HAVE to view it.

Look, it may be hard to believe, but I’m seriously not speaking for myself on this one.

I’m more talking in general on this topic.

It’s obvious that neither of us are going to sway each-other in any way, and some of you’re following are already beginning to lash out at me though reblogs of this post.

I understand your reason and logic, that people should be able to take care of themselves on this one and not make stupid chooses. I get that.

And I have said it before, I would not go through tumblr in any sort of sketchy timing for it. I think that’s silly.

But please understand my reasoning as well, that this would be a fail safe net, “just in case” so to speak.

But it’s abundantly obvious now that we should go our separate ways and cease talking about this at once, as we’re just ruining eachother’s days at this point.

I’m done, please do not follow up this argument any more.

Despite all of this, I hope you have a nice day and that you’ll view me in a reasonable light carrying on from this, as opposed to “ some blundering idiot who’s preaching at me about what I should do with my life.”

Nope, don’t think of you as a blundering idiot, I just think that you, or whoever you’re speaking for needs to be more responsible when viewing a website that allows NSFW content.

Good Day.
