The scare once known as
Global warming

weather is back to normal.

Global warming is ‘no longer a planetary emergency’

That’s right, it was weather all this time. Not a journalist in sight either, how convenient.

ERICE, SICILY – It’s official. The scare is over. The World Federation of Scientists, at its annual seminars on planetary emergencies, has been advised by its own climate monitoring panel that global warming is no longer a planetary emergency.

However, the crazies will always be out there:

Climate Craziness of the Week: Global Warming to cause ocean to lose its distinctive smell, and clouds, and maybe some other stuff

Over at Grist, where “burnt out” David Roberts just threw in the towel, the craziness continues with a new alarmist writer:

Vanishing ocean smell could also mean fewer clouds

By John Upton

Next time you’re at the beach take a deep, long sniff: That special coastal scent might not last forever. While you’re at it, put on some extra sunscreen: As that smell dwindles, cloud cover could, too.

UPDATE, Another mind blowing paper released today, kaboom. Jimbo commenting at WUWT:

The Guardian now sees the oceans. The oceans ate my global warming.

As they say: The truth will out.

Update 2.

Nature journal, August 28:

A new study adds to mounting evidence that cooling in the tropical Pacific Ocean is the cause of the global warming hiatus, a slow-down in the rise of average temperatures that began around 1998.

Chris Mooney, host of Climate Desk Live:

So what is causing the surface temperature slowdown?… Perhaps the leading explanation for the slowdown is that the oceans, and particularly the vast Pacific, are storing more heat at depth.

Reader handjive:

To summarize: the unpredicted cooling, or “pause”, is caused by catastrophic man made global warming, which is now ‘hiding’ in the oceans that are cooling, from which the catastrophic global warming will spring from the oceans and fry the children’s children 100 years in the future, even though we can see the effects now with co2 @ 400ppm. And if you believe that you are a fool and beyond hope.      58 comments
