Midway State Park
Midway State Park continues to offer the same family friendly atmosphere that visitors have come to love. Bryant Park
Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan, Bryant Park offers a welcome oasis from the bustling streets of Times Square and the surrounding business district. Bryant Park is located between 5th and 6th Avenues from 40th to 42nd Streets with the New York Public Library at the southern end of the park. Bryant Park hosts a variety of popular events, including outdoor film screenings, Broadway in Bryant Park, and Ice Skating.
Brooklyn Bridge Park
Some city parks—Central and Prospect, most obviously—were built to replicate rustic fields and preserve serene woodland. Brooklyn Bridge Park, however, was not—and that’s precisely why it has become so popular in the almost three years since it debuted. The project has transformed a chunk of the Brooklyn waterfront into a nearly 85-acre expanse; several sections house unique attractions such as Jane’s Carousel, a restored 1920s merry-go-round, and riverside esplanades with gorgeous Manhattan views. Pier 5, the first part of the park designed specifically for “active recreation,” opened in late 2012, cementing the space as the city’s premier urban playground.

The center features a six-lane, 25-yard pool, a gymnasium with basketball and volleyball courts, plus fitness rooms, a dance studio, a game room, and an arts and crafts room. Fitness classes offered range from gymnastics and ballet to aerobics and yoga. Beyond athletics, the center also hosts teen open mic nights, a hip-hop club, drama hour, and senior painting workshops, to name a few. In addition, the Computer Resource Center provides free computer access and instruction for skills such as word processing, internet use, web design, and desktop publishing.

Washington Square Park
Hudson River Park
This strip of waterfront park stretches from Battery Park to 59th Street, allowing you to walk, bike or skate while looking at the Hudson River and New Jersey. There are flowers, benches, piers and lots of programs—including youth sports and kayak rides in the river.
Lancaster Recreation Park, New York
The Lancaster Parks & Recreation Department offers many programs for the summer in various Lancaster Town Parks, Lancaster Schools and the Keysa & Meadow Lea Town Pools. Some of the programs are listed below. Tennis for all ages, Summer playground activities at various sites in the Town, Swim at Keysa or Meadow Lea Pool (with Town ID card), Swim Lessons at Keysa Town Pool and Lancaster High School Pool, Summer Sports Camps, Summer Basketball League, Track Program, Summer Concerts at the Town Band Shell, Softball, Volleyball and Kickball Leagues, 3on3 Basketball Tournament.Picnic shelter reservations are accepted starting in early February and continues throughout the summer. Shelter reservations are available to town residents only. Reservations are taken by phone only at 684-3320. Fees range from $15-$75. Shelters are located at Keysa, Westwood, Meadow Lea, and Walden Pond Parks and can accommodate 20-75 people.Year-round reservations are also taken for the indoor building at Westwood Park which can accommodate approximately 150 people.The fee is $75.
Tompkins Square Park
This charming Manhattan park is located in the heart of the East Village on 7th to 10th Streets between Avenues A and B. The park was once seen as a center of social problems but has transformed over the years into a place for families, students, tourists and pets. The park offers handball courts, basketball courts, built-in chess tables and playgrounds.
Hansborough Recreational Center
Located in the very center of Harlem, Hansborough is one of the only city-funded recreational centers with an indoor running track. It also provides members with a variety of classes including learn-to-swim programs for people of all ages and has computer access. Check schedules for facility availability. One unique feature of Hansborough is that it also has a sunroof where members can stock up on vitamin D or attend the regular festivities that occur there.
Washington Square Park
Located in Greenwich Village’s main public space, this New York park is a magnet for NYU students as well as families and tourists. The famous Washington Square Arch looms from above and attracts numerous performance artists throughout the year.
Seabreeze Amusement Park
Seabreeze park in Rochester is recreation center for kids and adults. Here you’ll find lots of attractions for the entire family in a traditional amusement park setting. Seabreeze has modern thrill rides, classic rides, a historic wooden roller coaster and a collection of kiddie rides. The adjacent Raging Rivers waterpark, included with park admission, has a wave pool, lazy river and water-slides to cool off in.
