Duties/Responsibilities

This Web Developer I will work on a variety of web and mobile software projects as part of the core research and development team. This position encompasses the full software stack; the individual will participate in design, coding, testing, and deployment of new products. The individual will spend 60%-70% of time coding, predominantly operating independently, but with some pair-programming. The role will require focus in both client and Server Side web development, user interface design, and aptitude in development methodologies, source control, and design patterns.

Designs, builds, and maintains Web applications.

Performs or directs Web applications updates.

Identifies problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback, and correct problems

Writes, designs, or edits Web page content

Evaluates code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.

Maintains understanding of current Web technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.

Analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.

Develops or validates test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types.

Writes supporting code for Web applications or Web sites.

Accepts feedback and mentoring while working independently on projects and tasks.

Develops and tests code for rich web applications on a LAMP stack.

Debugs and troubleshoots cross-browser and mobile device issues.

Participates in peer code reviews and adheres to styles and standards for code quality.

Provides regular updates with regard to project progress and outstanding issues.

Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.

Skills/Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent.

Experience:

Some previous web development experience, including client-side programming (JavaScript/jQuery, CSS), Server Side programming (PHP, Python, Ruby, ASP.NET, or similar), and database access.

Exposure to version control (SVN, git, or similar).

Any mobile development experience is a big plus but not necessary.

Pay: $70,000 to $80,000 USD
