Your New Company
This leading Hampshire based business are seeking forward thinking Lead PHP Developers that can marry the requirements of team leadership and technical expertise to deploy the next iteration of a world class SAAS platform. You'll be based from their head office in the Southampton and the position comes as a direct result of sustained growth.
Your New Role
You will take ownership of the development of the software platform, ensuring it is future proofed keeping the company ahead of competitors. Joining as a Lead Engineer you'll sit towards the top of an Agile stream team of 4-8 developers part of the wider team. You;ll be expected to delegate to other team members and provide hands-on technical expertise for their advanced web applications and complex Back End scripts. This is a great chance to gain exposure to internationally renowned brands as the business have such an enviable global client list.
In this senior position you will truly be able to influence the direction of large scale web applications and talented software engineering teams. The company run a mature adoption of eXtreme Programming, collaboration is actively encouraged and they champion an Agile working environment. Iteration and innovation are key so be prepared to accept that you don't know everything and that recognition and reaction to the users' needs is intrinsic. Participation in rapid prototyping and hack days are actively encouraged.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be assured producing large scale full stack OO LAMP stack PHP web applications and will have architected, developed and maintained commercial web apps. We require someone that has been in a senior position leading projects for at least 12 months and someone that has been working in a hands on programming capacity for 5-10+ years.
We want to speak to people invested in technology and that relish having business problems to unravel and solve. A strong interest in Agile, eXtreme programming, TDD/BDD, MVC Frameworks (including Symfony/Zend) and SQL will make you stand out for this position. You'll relish the systematic nature of engineering rather than building through templates or using CMS.
