IT & Web Developer / Designer - Front & Back end - HTML/CSS/PHP/mySQL/VB/Access

We are a long established Internet based company dating back to prehistoric internet times (1995) with a portfolio of popular websites, all of which require various degrees of modernisation. We are looking to launch a brand new broad appeal website and we require a key team member to design and develop the project from conception to launch and beyond.
We are looking for a programmer with experience of both web and office based systems. You will be designing, building and implementing software and technology solutions for our business, including long established websites and developing new sites.
Specific responsibilities:
* Designing and maintaining websites using HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, mySQL in a Linux/Apache environment
* Ensuring those sites work well on PC, mobile and tablet devices
* Designing and maintaining office based databases (for historic reasons, some of our websites are maintained offline then updated after static HTML pages are generated) in Visual Basic/Microsoft Access
* Updating / Refreshing look and feel of existing websites.
* Ad hoc programming tasks.
Essential requirements:
* Experience of back end web development including PHP/mySQL
* Excellent Design Skills
* HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ JQuery, PHP, MySQL, XML, Linux/ Apache environment.
* Visual Basic, Access, Excel
* Experience of mobile web development
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Able to keep abreast of emerging technologies
Desirable requirements:
* Android / iPhone app development

* Excellent problem solver, with the ability to own a project or problem and drive it through to resolution/completion
* Appetite and ability to learn fast under own initiative with ongoing development of technical skills across the changing technology environment
* Good, organised project management and time management with excellent attention to detail and documentation.
* Ability to work accurately, at speed always with the aim to be right first time
* Appetite to challenge the status quo to help enhance procedures and the business
* Ability to work well unsupervised / unaided as we are a very small team
