Adobe Redefines the Way the World Signs with New e-Sign Capabilities in Document Cloud; Partners with Dropbox to Streamline Work with Documents

Adobe has announced significant new e-sign capabilities in Document Cloud. New functionality includes a visual drag-and-drop Workflow Designer, digital signatures (a more advanced, secure form of e-signatures) and Enterprise Mobility Management and Signature Capture. Adobe also announced expanded partner integrations with Workday, Salesforce and Ariba.

Under the Adobe/Dropbox partnership, customers of Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Acrobat Reader can access and take common actions on PDF files stored in Dropbox directly from within the Adobe apps. Dropbox users can open, edit, and save changes to PDF documents in the Adobe apps directly from the Dropbox website, iOS app, or Android app.

Ricoh and Nuance Expand Partnership, Offering Customers New Solutions for Streamlining Workflows

Ricoh has released three enhanced information workflow solutions: Nuance AutoStore 7, Nuance eCopy ShareScan 5.4 and Nuance Output Manager 4 software. These products seamlessly interoperate with Ricoh MFPs.

Sepialine announces purchase of software company Technesis

Technesis’s product line includes Technesis Print Control System (PCS) and PrintControlOnline. Customers using Technesis PCS will continue to receive technical support as well as priority upgrades to Argos, Sepialine’s flagship cost recovery solution. PrintControlOnline will be discontinued and customers will be transitioned to Printerpoint, Sepialine’s cloud-based MPS and device management tool.

HP to be biggest exhibitor at Drupa 2016

HP will overtake Heidelberg as the largest-single exhibitor at Drupa 2016, and a revamp of the exhibition’s floorplan will see the digital print giant take over an entire hall at the show. HP’s graphic arts business will occupy the whole of hall 17 encompassing some 6,200sqm. At the last show in 2012, it had 4,952sqm in hall four.

FTC Decision on Staples-Office Depot Deal Delayed to December

Staples Inc. and Office Depot Inc. said they have agreed to a Federal Trade Commission decision to extend its review of Staples’ planned $6.3 billion deal to buy its office-supplies rival by nearly two months. A decision from the FTC now is expected by Dec. 8.

Dell Study Reveals Companies Investing in Cloud, Mobility, Security and Big Data Are Growing More Than 50 Percent Faster Than Laggards

Dell’s second annual Global Technology Adoption Index, revealing that organizations actively using cloud, mobility, big data or security technologies are experiencing up to 53 percent higher revenue growth rates than those that have not invested in these technologies. Despite this strong link between technology use and revenue growth, cost was cited as a main barrier to implementation or expansion of these technologies.

Mobile Search Tops at Google

This summer, world-wide Google searches on mobile devices surpassed those on personal computers for the first time, Amit Singhal, head of search at Google parent Alphabet Inc. said. Those figures exclude searches done on tablet computers. Mobile devices have also given rise to apps, which pose a challenge to Google because its search engine generally cannot look inside apps. The company is working to index billions of apps so it can display links to apps in search results.
