Conviva and NexStreaming Partner to Bring High-Quality Viewing Experience to Mobile Video Audience

Integration of Conviva’s advanced analytics with NexStreaming player for Android gives content publishers control over the viewing experience and simplifies and accelerates deployment

London, UK — January 30, 2014 — Conviva, the leader in video analytics, delivery optimization and big data processing, and NexStreaming, the leader in mobile player SDKs, today announced a partnership that will help content owners and publishers easily deliver the best digital media viewing experience on Android-powered mobile devices and televisions.

The partnership pre-integrates Insights, Conviva’s powerful analytics platform, into NexStreaming’s NexPlayer SDK for Android. By making Conviva’s granular data and analytics technology native to the NexStreaming player, online video publishers wanting to deliver high-quality content to Android devices can accelerate the integration process. This pre-integration streamlines deployment to devices running the most widely utilized operating system for mobile.

“With Conviva and NexStreaming joining together, content publishers will be able to easily learn exactly how their valuable content is performing across Android devices,” said Dr. Diego Dugatkin, vice president of new products and partnerships at Conviva. “Conviva knows that viewers expect a high-quality experience every time they click play, and the key to delivering on that expectation is the Intelligent Control Platform that only Conviva provides.”

Through the partnership, digital media publishers using the NexPlayer can bypass the integration step for Insights, and have immediate access to Conviva’s real-time data set. Conviva’s Insights not only allows them to receive alerts and immediately take action when there is degradation to quality, but also allows them to determine Quality of Experience (QoE) for their viewers and how it is impacting viewer engagement.

“We are pleased to now offer Conviva’s detailed analytics and expertise to our customers,” said Carlos Lucas, vice president and general manager of Europe and North America at NexStreaming. “With an increasing number of viewers turning to mobile devices for video consumption, it is critical to the content publishers to have data that provides a view into the mobile viewing experience. Working with Conviva, the world leader in QoE, is the best way to ensure our customers get the best information about their video experience, along with the ability to optimize it.”

NexPlayer enables a high-quality video experience for Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Windows 8 devices, and now allows customers to better control and measure this quality by adding Insights. The NexPlayer SDK for Android supports HLS streaming in all devices, and includes the latest features such as closed captioning, subtitles and time shifting. As the leading provider of big data for online video, Conviva provides the most comprehensive look into the video quality with its global intelligence collected from the billions of streams it measures every month. Insights serves as the window into this data, providing content owners a look at the experience of every single viewer. The joint solution from Conviva and NexStreaming is available to customers now.
