Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 11 June 2013 – Registrations for this year’s LTE World Summit have reached record-breaking levels as the diverse agenda attracts key industry figures from around the globe. With a 40% increase in registrants so far, and with less than two weeks to go, 2013 looks set to be the best LTE World Summit yet.

Bolstering the agenda are three brand new co-located summits, which includes LTE Backhaul Summit, which will explore Effective Planning and Deployment of Backhaul Networks in the LTE Era; Connected Cars, Bringing Auto OEMs, Connectivity and Infotainment Providers Together to Monetise the In-Car Connected Consumer; and Simposium Global, The Only International Secure Element Forum.

Five reinvigorated expo summits will also feature in the programme, comprising LTE Public Safety, the Mobile App Hub, the Innovation Accelerator, Maximising LTE, and 5G. Prominent thought-leaders and innovators in the ecosystem will gather at the free-to-attend summits to address some of the most forward-looking issues facing the industry today.

Dr. Afif Osseiran, Project Coordinator, METIS, Ericsson AB, Sweden, will speak as part of the 5G expo summit, occurring from 16.30pm – 18.00pm on Tuesday 25 June. Dr. Osseiran proposes to highlight the importance of LTE and its future evolution. Dr. Osseiran commented: “5G consists of evolution of existing wireless technologies (in particular LTE) and complementary new technologies jointly enabling the long term Networked Society."

Joining him, Eric Hardouin, Coordinator of Research on Wireless Networks, Orange, added: “Research activities on 5G have started worldwide, and are pursued in Europe in the EU-funded collaborative project METIS. One key question is whether 5G will be an evolution of LTE, or rather a brand new technology, or a mix of both?”

Iain Dendle, Business Development Director, Shazam, UK, will take part in the Mobile App Hub on Wednesday 26 June from 10.30am - 17.10pm. Mr. Dendle said: "The mobile market is evolving nearly at the speed of light, making it challenging to keep on top of who the key players are in the marketplace and where the good partnership prospects lie. LTE World Summit is an ideal platform for our industry's leaders to gather and explore innovation and opportunity."

LTE Operator Mindshare and the Signalling Focus Day will make up the Pre Conference Focus Days taking place on Monday 24 June. Designed to provide vital insight and interaction, the Operator Mindshare will bring together leading executives for in-depth discussion and debate on innovative mobile broadband topics, whilst the Signalling Focus Day will encourage expert dialogue around handling surging signalling traffic.

Now in its ninth year, the conference and exhibition intends to address several key themes; Service Innovation; LTE Roaming and Spectrum Management, Hetnets; Handling the Mobile Data Explosion; Monetising LTE; Voice and Device Developments; LTE-Advanced; Network Optimisation; and Signalling Traffic. Influential key speakers will drive the discussions throughout including; Jae W. Byun, CTO, SK Telecom; Jonathan Alferness, Director of Product Management, Mobile Ads Lead, Google, USA; Yin Weimin, President of GSM/UMTS/LTE Network, Huawei; Alain Maloberti, Senior Vice President, Network Architecture & Design, Orange, France; and Frank Meywerk, CTIO, T-Mobile, Netherlands.

Sam Oakley, Events Director of the LTE World Series comments: “This year LTE has truly taken the spotlight and key mobile players are driving its momentum forward - addressing the challenges of an impending data explosion, celebrating its opportunities and looking to the future of what LTE means for everyone. This year I believe we have created an agenda that reflects the evolving, innovative and fast-moving nature of the industry, with a diverse and exciting line up that looks to be our best yet.”

Each year the exhibition and conference attracts over 3,000 attendees from across more than 130 countries. More than 125 exhibitors will showcase the latest in LTE solutions and 250 speakers will cover the major aspects critical to the future of LTE.
