From Press Release

The HEADstrong Foundation™ is proud to announce plans for the 7th Annual Nicholas Colleluori Fall Men’s Classic Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6 at Ridley High School in Folsom, PA.

The NCC is held annually and is dedicated to remembering the life and legacy of HEADstrong founder and Ridley grad Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori while promoting the importance of community, brotherhood and sportsmanship within the game.

Twenty collegiate men’s lacrosse programs, 10,000 spectators and a large group of volunteers will descend upon Nick’s home field, Ridley High School to be part of this year’s event. Games will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday and 9:00AM on Sunday.

Teams will wear Laces for Lymphoma™ to show their support for the cause. Each team will play 2 games and the schedule will be released leading up to the event. Additionally, each team will be engaged in service, selling awareness t-shirts on their campuses to help contribute to the fundraising total.

On game day teams are led by an honorary captain who is either a survivor or patient of cancer. In addition, the Colleluori family delivers a heartfelt address to all of the participants and attendees during the HEADstrong Ceremony. During the ceremony a member from each team will be selected as the recipient of the Nicholas Colleluori Award, which is presented annually to a player from each participating team whose contributions both on and off the field are transforming the landscape of their represented program.

The NCC combines the elements of a non-traditional collegiate lacrosse tournament with a Fall festival. The atmosphere of the event is one that makes the NCC truly unique. Each team is provided with a 20x40ft tent which gathers friends, family, alumni and supporters of each program for tailgating. There will be a vendor village showcasing the latest in lacrosse gear, interactive displays and promotional swag from HEADstrong, Warrior, Brine, Reversible Lifestyle and many others. Concessions vendors such as Zac’s Hamburgers, Philly Street Food, Say Cheese Gourmet Food Truck, Double Decker Pizza and others will be presenting a delicious menu for spectators.

The Nicholas Colleluori Classic has become a Fall tradition in the sport of lacrosse. This milestone event has helped raise over $1,100,000, allowing the HEADstrong Foundation to strengthen their commitment to improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer.

“On behalf of the HEADstrong Foundation and our family we wish to extend an invitation to everyone to attend the 7th Annual Nicholas Colleluori Classic,” Cheryl Colleluori HEADstrong President and Nick’s Mom. “It is from this event that the HEADstrong mission was able to take flight.

“Through the generosity of the lacrosse community we have emerged as a national resource to families affected by cancer. Given the visibility of HEADstrong the demand for our services has never been greater.

“As our organization evolves we are determined to show continual development in both our services and programs oriented in improving quality of life. The NCC is a great way to experience what has made HEADstrong successful; passion and the tireless work of our committee, our volunteers, our supporters and our family.

“The NCC celebrates the fraternal bond between teammates, alumni and the relationships forged by families on the playing field. We are incredibly grateful to our past and present teams, vendors, volunteers, sponsors and families who have continued to support the NCC and the HEADstrong Foundation. We look forward to seeing everyone in October.”
