Several members of the Pfaff team, accompanying paying guests on a Pfaff travel experience, are at the Monterey Peninsula for the annual car week – a festival of automotive events celebrating high performance, classic design, and automotive elegance.

Throughout the next few days, you’ll read reports from some of the best events, including The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Our special guests will also be treated to exclusive test-drive experiences from our elite brands – Pagani, McLaren, and Singer Vehicle Design.

For the last 25 years, the McCall Motorworks Reunion has kicked off the festivities. Held at the Monterey Jet Center, it brings together private aircraft and high-end automobiles in a unique celebration of technology, style, and performance, with displays of exclusive vehicles as well as excellent food and live entertainment. Several Pfaff brands were well-represented at the event.

McLaren displayed a trio of important new vehicles: the new 570 GT, a grand-touring version of the 570S sports car, with a new Touring Deck, glass roof, and side-hinged rear hatch. Resplendent in MSO Mauvine Blue metallic, it was stunning in the flesh. Two P1 GTR track-only cars were also present, the most extreme interpretation of McLaren’s Ultimate Series. Finally, the company also presented the 570S GT4 race car – which will soon be available at McLaren Toronto and McLaren Vancouver for purchase and entry into sports-car racing.

Pagani was also in attendance, displaying a “standard” Huayra as well as the new, and already-sold out Huayra BC – in fact, the same vehicle we reviewed here. Horacio Pagani was on hand to answer questions about these remarkable automobiles and to give enthusiasts an insider’s perspective into their development.

Finally, Singer Vehicle Design had a 4.0-litre restoration with numerous performance options on the tarmac, with company representatives answering questions and showing off its incredible build quality and remarkable, handmade interior.

Also on the tarmac were various other classic and performance vehicles, including numerous vintage Porsches, and an impressive array of BMW 3.0 CSL coupes, there to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the BMW brand. This milestone anniversary also means BMW is the featured marque at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which we’ll cover in detail on Saturday.

Stay tuned for more from car week on this blog; we hope to post at least one news item every day!
