The Second International Festival of Arts “The Living Gulf”

The festival dedicated to the culture and nature of the Baltic region is designed as a large art exhibition. The festival features extensive cultural program including creative meetings, presentations, performances, concerts, workshops and lectures. Festival visitors can learn a lot about the culture and ecology of the region, taste ecological tea, learn to draw fish in the Japanese style, meet with the singer Maria Kapuro and even buy a kitten. Location – Creative cluster “ArtMuza.”

Night of Arts

Cultural and educational event “Night of Arts” is a part of the Year of Literature in Russia. The main venues are the museums and cultural centers of the city. Museum-Preserve “Tsarskoye Selo” holds a special program from 18:00 to 21:00 in the building of the Martial Chamber. Theatre “Baltic House” invites its guests behind the scenes and The House of Music in Alexeyevskoye Palace organizes guided tours of the state rooms.

The National Unity Day in St. Petersburg

To celebrate the national holiday Wednesday declared a public holiday. No major street events this year are planned, except for performances of amateur groups of national diasporas in the Alexander Park and a concert in the Grand Concert Hall “Oktyabrsky”.

International Organ Festival

Two interesting concerts are performed as a part of this festival: one by the British organist Kevin Bowyer on Monday and another by the organist from Hague, Ben van Oosten on Tuesday, both at the Concert Hall of Mariinsky Theatre. The closing ceremony of the festival is held on Thursday 6 November with participation of organist Thierry Escaich and the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra under Valery Georgiev.

International Festival of Chamber Music “Silver Lyre”

Concerts of classical music performed by great musicians from around the world are held in the Great Concert Hall and the Small Philharmonic Hall. The closing concert “Anything can Saxophone” is performed by saxophone quartet from Germany and orchestra “Saxophones of St. Petersburg” in the Great Concert Hall on November 7.

Neva Choral Assemblies 2015

Performances of choirs of Mikhailovsky Theatre, Saint-Petersburg Capella, student and children’s choirs, accompanied by a symphony orchestra in the Academic Capella, Sheremetev Palace, St. Sampson Cathedral and the Cathedral of St. Peter-and-Paul on Nevsky Prospect are in this festival programme. The closing ceremony of the festival is scheduled for 20:00 November 8 in St. Isaac’s Cathedral, with the participation of all choirs’ members.

The exhibition “Roerich – revived paintings”

A new multimedia exhibition was opened at the creative space “Lumiere Hall”. This time there are more than 300 works of the painter created during his travels in the Himalayas and the Altai. On many screens the paintings are presented in the ps3D format and accompanied by stereo music.

The exhibition “Petersburg datsan. At the centenary of the church”

The exhibition is dedicated to the first Buddhist temple in Europe – datsan Gunzechoyney. The temple was built in the early 20th century in St. Petersburg, later it was destroyed and than recovered in 1990. The exhibition is held at the Engineering building of the Peter and Paul fortress.
