chocolatequeennk:

We’ve been doing this for almost a year, and I just realised that I have yet to spotlight our dear @lunaseemoony, who actually established this event. But we’ll get to that part of her fandom bio in a moment. First, her fic.

The very first work I read of Moony’s was Missed Chances. This lovely story is a Ten/Rose student/teacher AU with a lot of layers to it. I was captivated from the start. Moony wrote them so well, with all the little chances they could have taken but didn’t, finally leading to a very satisfying happy ending.

Then there was Deja Vu, which I’ve read multiple times now. In this story, Rose has accidentally turned Ten into a cat, and as they go through the week it takes for the spell to wear off, she remembers another time it happened, before he regenerated. There are some lovely reveals worked into this story, and I just love the idea of the Doctor as a cat wanting to cuddle with Rose.

Her magnum opus, of course, is Foundations. This story is one of the best canon-verse Ten/Rose babyfics I have ever read. Right from the start, the idea of Rose wanting to have a baby with the Doctor–just as friends–sucked me in. This fic is set post-Doomsday fix, so there’s no concern of them being separated during the pregnancy or after the baby is born. It’s really about two friends who love each other daring to finally open up about their feelings.

Moony also writes more Teninch fic than almost anyone else. She’s written Aiden Hoynes/Rose and Alec Hardy/Rose, and she’s willing to tackle some of the rare Tennants and Pipers in pursuit of the perfect fic.

And now let’s talk about Moony, the member of our fandom. Moony, who wanted to encourage writers to keep writing so she started @timepetalsprompts (with @ktrosesworld and @sequencefairy). Moony, who watched our authors get frustrated and leave the fandom last year and decided to do something about it. That’s where Fanfic Writer Wednesday comes in. This whole day, which has since become a regular feature in our fandom, is because our dear Moony was looking out for the authors.

Moony is also my co-host for the Fall Fic Fest, and she’s so much fun to work with. She’s got loads of ideas and enthusiasm, and she uses all of it to keep this fandom alive.

So join me today in thanking Moony for the gifts she’s given us. Take a look at her fics on AO3 and Teaspoon and leave review-presents for her. Drop her a note here on Tumblr, thanking her for all she’s done.

Let’s make today the best day of the month for Moony.

I’m going to add on here because Nancy has said everything perfectly above and my two cents is entirely superfluous but I’m adding it anyways.

@lunaseemoony is incredible. Foundations, the canon-verse Ten/Rose baby!fic that you never knew you needed. To be quite honest, baby!fic is not my thing but I gave Foundations a shot and oh man was it worth it! It remains one of the only baby!fics I have ever ventured into and just absolutely loved. I adore it. Binge-read almost the entire thing in one night and proceeded to wait (very impatiently) for the last couple of chapters to come out, if I’m remembering correctly.

Then, there’s all of her Teninch fic which is so so wonderful. I’m pretty sure Moony is the engine that keeps the Teninch fic community rolling down the track (and on the track!!). As Nancy said, she’s willing to tackle the rare Tennants and Pipers and she helps others fall in love with them too.

Her writing is engaging and emotionally on point like all the time and it’s incredible. Moony herself is a brilliant, kind, amazing person who just has so much heart and dedicates so much of that heart and her time to this community with everything she does on her blog from content creation to defending other content creators to the brilliance of @timepetalsprompts.

Moony is a gift, a treasure, a star that so generously shares her light with all of us. Take a second today or this week and drop her a note or leave a review on one of her amazing fics!

We love you Moony ♥♥♥
