Another Thrissur character named Vasoottan is conquering the hearts of Kerala in this festival season through the colourful Malayalam entertainer titled as Jamna Pyari . The beautiful song, introducing the hero of the movie Vasoottan composed by the National Award winning director Gopi Sunder, which is also in the Thrissur slang is already in the first position on the hit chart now and the song has become viral in the internet media from the first day of the release of the song. The song was the main attraction of the audience to the theaters and the content of the movie is already said through the song itself.
Vasu , who is well known for his serive to the public in the area and the movie begins with a journey of some people of Vadakkanchery in a private bus , twenty years ago . The bus fell down to a river in that rainy day and there were many passengers including school students and Vasu was very busy in helping them from death. But he flow away and that was a tragedy for the village and the people of the area looked after and called his son as Vasoottan (Kunchacko Boban ). Vasoottan is an auto a driver and very helpful to the society like his father.
Sabu ( Suraj Venjaramood) , Rameshan ( Aju Varghese) , Prakashan (Joy Mathew ) etc are the friends of Vasoottan. One day Parvathy (Gayathri Suresh) enters in to the auto of Vasoottan. She and her father (Maniyan Pillai Raju) takes an economic aid from a bank after her MBA for a farm and to export Jamna Pyari. Jamna Pyari is really a name of the breed of goats . The movie is all about the life of an auto driver Vasuttan to help the girl and her family as they have to get a number of 100 Jamna Pyari goats to solve their economic problem.
The Life stock Development Officer Veena (Anumol) and a short film new generation director (Neeraj Madhav ) helped them to get some Jamna Pyari goats. Vasoottan gets some from the different parts of Kerala and even from Tamil Nadu . But that was not easy to collect the 100 Jamna Pyari goats as it is a rare breed. Former Renji Trophy Football player Sreedharan ( Renji Panikkar) , who is also a rich farm owner was an obstacle for Vasoottan to do so. The game of Vasoottan is not only for helping the family of Parvathy but also for getting her as his love.
The movie Jamna Pyari is well executed by the director Thomas Sebastian and the brilliant script of P R Arun also helped him to treat this movie, which is based upon the life of some village people, an extraordinary flick. As usual the simplicity of the hero Kunchacko Boban helps the movie to be a festival hit and the flexibility of the actor will also be noted again by the film industry. The comedy track lead by Suraj Venjaramoodu and Neeraj Madhav is the highlight of the movie. The festival song of Tamil Nadu is simply superb and it is a good dance number.
The debutante heroine Gayathri Suresh proved that she is very essential to the Malayalam film industry and her role of Pavathri was very safe in her hands. Gayathri Suresh’ s performance is as that of an experienced actress and Renji Paniker, Joy Mathew, Neeraj Madhav, Anumol etc all did their best in this comedy entertainer.
The Malayalam movie Jamna Pyari is produced by Jaison Elamgulam under the banner of R J Creations. As it is mentioned earlier, the music department is safe in the hands of the one and only Gopi Sunder and the beautiful lyrics of the songs also helped him to create the super hit numbers like ” Enthoott da kdaave..” in this onam . The village beauty of the movie is captured nicely by the cinematographer Anish Lal , and it is wonderfully edited by V Saajan. The technically perfect team and best artists of the Malayalam film industry helped the movie to make it as an attractive and a successful entertainer.
In short, Kunchacko Boban’ s Jamna Pyari is a simple and feel good family entertainer that we cannot afford to miss in this festival season.
