LAS VEGAS, March 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP), a leader in the industrial hemp industry reports, today, on more current material events in the industrial hemp and medical marijuana industries. Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. said, “What we want to do is keep our shareholders abreast of how rapidly the industry is evolving in favor of legalizing industrial hemp. We are seeing more and more States considering some form of hemp legislation almost every week. The hemp plant has been cultivated for non-drug uses such as paper, textiles, soap, food, building materials and more recently high-tech bio-composites used in automobiles for years but yet it’s illegal to grow in most states… the United States is the world’s largest consumer of hemp, but it remains the only major industrialized country that bans farming the product.”

Here’s a look at some material events just in the past week alone concerning the industrial hemp industry:

1. Signed by the Governor: North Dakota Law Authorizes Hemp Farming, Effectively Nullifies Federal Ban – Last week, Gov. Jack Dalrymple signed a bill into law authorizing the farming, production, and sale of industrial hemp in the state, effectively nullifying the federal prohibition on the same. Introduced by Reps. David Monson (R-10) and Alan Fehr (R-36) along with Sen. Tom Campbell (R-19), House Bill 1436 (HB1436) passed 87-5 in the House last month. A 46-1 vote in the Senate this month sent the bill to Dalrymple’s desk for a signature. HB1436 not only sets up the framework to effectuate a commercial hemp farming program in the state, it expressly rejects any need for federal approval before growing hemp in the state. It reads, in part: “A license required by this section is not conditioned on or subject to review or approval by the United States drug enforcement agency.” Passage into law ensures that North Dakota will join join five other states – Colorado, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vermont – that have already passed similar measures. Willie Nelson to Launch Chain of Marijuana Stores – Country music veteran Willie Nelson is set to open a chain of marijuana shops across the U.S. The 81 year old, who is a proud pot smoker, is planning to launch the dispensaries throughout America, where cannabis consumption has been decriminalized in many states for medicinal purposes. Nelson’s business partner, Michael Bowman, tells Thedailybeast.com, “Willie has spent a lifetime in support of cannabis, both the industrial hemp side and the marijuana side. He wants it to be something that’s reflective of his passion. Ultimately, it’s his. But it was developed by his family, and their focus on environmental and social issues. Hemp, Inc. executives are reaching out to Nelson and partner Bowman, as the marijuana shops would be an ideal retailer to distribute Hemp, Inc.’s ever expanding hemp-based product lines.

4. Eight Oils that Can Heal Your Body - Hemp oil or hempseed oil is obtained by pressing hemp seeds. It is named to be nature’s perfect food due to its balanced concentrations of Omega fatty acids 3, 6 and 9. 5. U.S.: Best Practices Advocated For Labeling, Manufacturing Cannabis and Hemp Products – The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) Cannabis Committee, in coordination with Americans for Safe Access (ASA), and the Hemp Industries Association (HIA), has announced the release of a joint statement advocating for implementation of best practices for the regulation of consumable, topical, and inhalant cannabis and hemp-derived products to ensure quality and consumer safety. 6. First Hemp Plane Scheduled to Take Flight – Hemp is what’s happening right now. From informative books about hemp to futuristic hemp cars, it’s clear that the U.S. is starting to get hip to the multitude of ways that the material can be seriously useful. Many people have begun to take advantage of the environmentally-friendly plant that has been proven to detoxify and regenerate soil, but one man is boldly trying to take hemp out of the ground and put it up in the sky. (OTC:HEMP).

7. New Hampshire House Votes to Legalize Hemp Farming, Effectively Nullify Federal Ban – The New Hampshire state House approved a bill today that would remove the ban on industrial hemp in the state, effectively nullifying the federal prohibition on the same. Introduced by Elizabeth Edwards (D-Hillsborough), Laura Jones (R-Strafford), Robert Cushing (D-Rockingham), and Michael Sylvia (R-Belknap) on Jan. 8, House Bill 494 (HB494) opens the door for a full-scale commercial hemp market in the state by treating it as any other crop for farming… (Source: Tenth Amendment Center – 3/11/2015)

9. If Signed, How Narrow Will State Interpret Hemp Law? – The bill, which currently sits on the governor’s desk, is based on the 2013 federal Farm Bill, which allows states to write their own laws to grow hemp for research purposes. Though that research must be tied to a university or an agriculture department, states like Kentucky also allow private farmers to grow hemp, as long as they’re contracted with the state or a university. 10. Virginia: Governor Signs Hemp Cultivation Bill Into Law – Democrat Gov. Terry McAuliffe signed legislation into law last week allowing for the cultivation of industrial hemp in accordance with state-sponsored research programs. HEMP, INC.’s TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE

Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP) seeks to benefit many constituencies from a “Cultural Creative” perspective thereby not exploiting or endangering any group. CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP), Bruce Perlowin, is positioning the company as a leader in the industrial hemp industry, with a social and environmental mission at its core. In fact, he wanted to, consciously, found a business with non-financial goals that weren’t an after-thought, but are part of its DNA. Thus, the publicly-traded company believes in “upstreaming” of a portion of profit from the marketing of their finished hemp goods back to its originator, in which most cases will one day be the American farmer, cultivating natural, sustainable products as an interwoven piece of nature. By Hemp, Inc. focusing on comprehensive investment results—that is, with respect to performance along the interrelated dimensions of people, planet, and profits—our triple bottom line approach can be an important tool to support sustainability goals.
