From ASU:

Dr. Kim Bell

Kim Bell, Athens State Assistant Professor of Management and Statistics and Interim Director of the University’s Center for Lifelong Learning, has been named Director of the Center. Bell will begin her duties when classes resume after the first of the year.

“I am excited to be able to continue the work that we have started here on a permanent basis,” remarked Bell. “The Center for Lifelong Learning has historically produced some wonderful initiatives for Athens State and the community; I look forward to seeing what we can build upon and what the future holds for this needed facility.”

The Center for Lifelong Learning is the professional development and personal enrichment extension of Athens State University. Its mission is to provide opportunities for students and the surrounding community to participate in community activities and educational opportunities that meet the career development and personal enrichment needs of our region.  The Center extends to the community the benefits of the academic excellence of the University by offering innovative, high-quality, flexible programs designed to enrich the quality of life and promote economic and personal development for all people.

“Professor Bell has effectively led the Center for Lifelong Learning since July 2015 on an interim basis,” said Athens State Provost Joe Delap. “Since then, the Center has continued to offer enriched programming for our campus and to the community, and in the last fiscal year it yielded its highest level of participation since it opened.”

Athens State’s Center for Lifelong Learning is located at 121 S. Marion Street on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse Square.
