Such is the case with the people we will soon talk about, people who spent their lives perfecting the art of cooking. These reputable chefs are known throughout the world for their culinary mastery and for the commitment they have with food, an almost personal relationship as some would say.

It is due to their undeniable cooking skill that they became so widely known to even those who aren’t all that interested in the culinary arts. Long story short, here are the ten most famous chefs in the world right now.

Anthony Bourdain



Bourdain is the executive chef at Brasserie Les Halles, New York. This hub in New York City serves the highest number of international cuisines in the world. Bourdain is not only a chef. He also writes fiction and non-fiction as well. He began his career 2 decades ago as a dishwasher, line cook, sous chef, to a fully-fledged chef. As you can imagine, Bourdain is very passionate about food. He has authored “Kitchen confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly”. He also hosts cookery shows and runs a food blog. He has literally explored all the milestones that food can reach.

Heston Marc Blumenthal



Blumenthal is an English chef who advocates for scientific understanding when it comes to cooking. He is now the owner of several restaurants, some of which that owe their success to his tremendous influence. One of his most famous restaurants is The Fat Duck. It earned him 3 Michelin stars. In 2006, it was also voted as one of the 50 best restaurants in the world. He devised the theory of Multi-Sensory Cooking. He is passionate about the theory of cooking, and food as well.

Julia Child

Child introduced French cuisine to American audiences. She did this using her book “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” and her TV show “The French Chef”. She positioned herself as an outstanding chef in an era where diners were far more popular than today. Over the years, she proved herself time and time again as one of the most skilled chefs in the world, which is why she is being celebrated as a real star in the culinary world.

Thomas Keller

Cooking comes naturally to Keller. He is a restaurateur and American chef with many awards to his name. Interestingly enough, he received no professional training whatsoever. Even so, he now owns the French Laundry in Napa Valley. He was also crowned the Best Californian Chef in 1997. He was awarded a 3-star rating for his restaurants and French Laundry during the New York inaugural Michelin guide and has authored several books.

Charlie Trotter

Trotter’s major was in political science until he discovered his passion for food. He founded the cooking show, “The Masterchef”. He is a chef, author, and restaurateur. He has penned 14 cookbooks and 3 management books. He is associated with the Charlie Trotter Culinary Education Organization. Trotter believes that food is not a passion. It is love, and everyone deserves some of it. In 2005, IACP awarded him the Humanitarian of the year award.

Emeril Lagasse

Lagasse is a French-Portuguese-American restaurateur who owns a number of restaurants in the US. He received the James Beard award at some point, proof of just what Emeril is capable of when it comes to cooking almost any dish. His Creole and Cajun cooking styles are also widely celebrated. Speaking of popularity, his food makes about $150 million annually, mostly due to how reputable his restaurants are.

Paul Bocuse

Paul Bocuse is considered to be the father of Culinary Art in France. He is considered by many to be a veritable ambassador of French cuisine. He was associated with Nouvelle Cuisine at some point, yet he is mostly known for his own work. What’s interesting about Paul is that over the years, he trained students who became some of the world’s top chefs. He was even crowned the Chef of the Century.

Wolfgang Puck

Wolfgang Puck is an Austrian Chef who’s style is characterized by mystery. He revolutionized American cooking via incorporating elements of Asian, Californian, and French techniques. He also incorporated other high-quality ingredients from cuisines around the world. His mother trained him to cook since when he was a child. Punk is regarded as the chef who earned the most among all the top chefs. He has also penned several cookbooks and is a restaurateur. His restaurant was even featured among the top 40 in the US. Not long ago, he received the Official Caterers for Academy Awards Governor Ball.

White is a world-renowned British chef. He is also known as the Godfather of Modern Cuisine and rightfully so. He has made a significant contribution to contemporary International Cuisine over the years, receiving four Michelin stars by age 33, making him the youngest to receive this covetous award. Marco has also trained world-class chefs like Curtis Stone and Gordon Ramsay.

Gordon James Ramsay is a Scottish chef with a very explosive temperament. He has made his mark in the culinary niche not only with his amazing cooking skills but also due to his unique personality. Interestingly enough, Gordon had dreamed of being a footballer as a young boy. It was only after a serious injury that he sought to become the culinary magician he is today. He has received 14 Michelin Stars throughout his career. He also appears on “Hell’s Kitchen”, “Masterchef USA” and “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmare”.
