We are hiring a creative, talented writer to develop digital instructional materials for business professionals to help improve their English communication skills at work. The role includes writing top-quality interactive content that results in successful learner outcomes. Experience in educational technology and English language instruction a must.
* Responsibilities*
* Write digital interactive lessons for business professionals that will help them to improve their ability to perform more effectively at work in English
* Write both self-study and blended learning content, working within prescribed digital applications and style guide
* Write lessons for online live group interactions
* Work closely with a Development Editor (DE) who will provide feedback on all manuscript submissions
* Revise manuscript until DE determines it’s final, reflecting top-quality, effective learning content, with clear learner outcomes
* Work closely with other team members to clarify content and related issues for each activity, with ability to negotiate agreement or compromise as needed
* Conduct subject-matter research, as needed, to support content development in specific areas (industry, culture, business practices, etc.) for intermediate and advanced material
* Work as part of an Agile team, including writers, editors, a project manager, production assistants, designers, and engineers, to conceptualize and write interactive content (e.g., spec documents, scripts) for innovative, performance-based business skills courses
* Work effectively and regularly with other project members (writers, editors, SMEs, project managers, media/production team, product owners), as necessary, to create top-quality, effective learning content that meets our prescribed business objectives
* Understand and integrate the Global Scale of English Learning Objectives in the content development process
*Requirements/Qualifications*
* Master's degree or equivalent in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Learning Technology, Instructional Design, or closely related field, or relevant bachelor's degree with an exceptional background in materials development and/or digital instruction
* 3+ years of digital learning content development, writing and/or editing
* Strong track record developing digital ELT content
* Experience creating business English content strongly preferred
* Ability to collaborate actively with others on a cross-functional team, including the ability to initiate communication as appropriate
* Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
* Knowledge of British English or other non-American English a plus
* Possesses an eye for detail and ability to manifest ideas into a tangible form
