The Editorial Manager will directly manage approximately 5 to 6 direct reports, including content services, proofreading, and copy editing\.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Effectively leads the team, including excellence at establishing role clarity, goal alignment, KPIs, motivating and developing people, process delineation and improvement, and instilling a high degree of customer\-service mindset and practice within of the budget and time frame\.

Builds and maintains effective long\-term relationships and a high level of satisfaction with all levels of the client organization

Meets demand for the organization's products and services by developing and implementing standard processes and escalation paths to meet customer needs

Conducts regular status and strategy meetings with a\) the Pearson team, and b\) the customer’s various user groups and management teammates in order to understand their needs and link them to the organization's delivery of creative and editorial services\.

Implement actions and workarounds to mitigate project risk to meet the time lines and content needs of the customer groups\.

**Qualifications**

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience with instructional materials development or in an editorial capacity within educational publishing

Experience in education preferred

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience with AP style and the use of in\-house style guides; strong team\-building skills; and strong leadership skills

In\-depth understanding of print and digital production processes and workflows

Ability to respond quickly in an environment of changing priorities; must be able to set relevant priorities on a daily basis

Proficiency with technology and technology applications, including MS Office Suite \(Word, Excel, and Power Point\) and Adobe Acrobat Professional

Ability to anticipate and address potential problems that may affect quality and/or workflow

Ability to develop staff and improve productivity through goal\-setting, coaching, delegating, training, and regular performance evaluation

Ability to form relationships with customers, including being responsive and empathetic to customers needs

Solid work ethic, self\-discipline, persistence, and ability to work independently and in a team

Multitasking, organizational, and time\-management skills

Ability to motivate and lead diverse teams to achieve unified outcomes

Successfully prioritize projects, initiatives, and workloads to best meet the needs of the client
