Choose A Theme

The theme to your candy buffet is anything you want it to be.  Candy buffets are used for:

Birthday celebrations

Weddings

Wedding and baby showers

Bar Mitzvah

Bat Mitzvah

Holidays

Fall festivals

Anywhere there is a celebration, party, or get-together, there is a place for a candy buffet. Your birthday themes are like traditional birthday themes. Consider balloons, action figures, princesses, trains, just the name of the guest of honor.  The candy creates an island of goodies instead of one cake and some ice cream.

Once you have chosen a theme, select three colors that compliment the theme and stick with those colors. Different shades and hues of those colors are fine, but keep them in the same color range.

You will need a backdrop (optional but very pretty), table covering, six to eight candy jars, scoops and tongs, decorations, and goodie bags or small boxes.

You will set up your table in three zones.  The back zone is for taller jars, This is a great place for Dr. John’s bulk candy like taffy, chews, and hard candy like Dr. John’s sugar-free butterscotch hard candy.  Don’t forget the creamsicle in hard candy or sucker form. The selection is broad and there are many flavors to mix and match in these bulk orders.

Use your middle section for fun containers, decorations and a wide variety of Dr. John’s organic suckers, lollipops, and specialty rainbow pops.  There are so many to choose from, you might want to go with the assorted Dr. John’s sweet collections.

Use the front zone for trays and individual candies. This is where you will stage your gift bags and or boxes. The table is filled with dishes in the shapes of your theme, theme decorations, and colorful jars. You can also stage some bottled water as for guests. You can print cute labels for the fronts of the serving jars and water bottles to pull together the look.

You will need about 8-ounces of candy per guest. The candy comes in 5-pound bags. Order the candy in plenty of time so you will not suffer additional expenses for fast shipment. Your guests will be thrilled to know that their children need not worry about allergies or other health issues when they indulge in your special candy buffet. Your treats are safe for everyone and there is something for every taste.
