LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — Pioneer’s Cycle Sports Division officially announced its new single-leg power meter at Interbike on Tuesday. The new power meter is available for Shimano Dura-Ace and Ultegra cranks, retailing for $900 and $800, respectively. An upgrade kit, to bring power metering to the right arm, will retail for $750.
“Weekend warriors and non-professional level riders typically use a heart rate monitor to judge effort, but they’re now demanding a more accurate way to monitor and improve on-bike performance for a better ride,” said Russ Johnston, executive vice president of marketing and corporate communications for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “Power isn’t exclusive to professional cyclists and triathletes.
