Dell’s seventh annual PartnerDirect Solutions Conference took place in Vienna this week, and the vendor has revealed its latest survey findings and Partner of the Year award winners.

A survey among more than 160 partner attendees conducted by Dell indicates that the majority of its channel partners have had a successful year, with 88 per cent of those surveyed reporting an uplift in sales over the past 12 months and increased spending across a variety of sectors, suggesting that economic recovery continues.

Industries showing particularly positive results included manufacturing, services, technology and the public sector, with 40 per cent of partners seeing improvements across each sector.

Looking ahead, the majority of respondents expect mobile payments (64 per cent) and the Internet of Things (60 per cent) to become mainstream in 2016. Plus, 57 per cent of respondents said that improving security is currently their customers’ main IT priority.

CEO and founder Michael Dell addressed more than 500 Premier and Preferred channel partners and top distributors from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the conference.

Dell reaffirmed its commitment to the channel and outlined expected growth for 2016 with new “Future-Ready” programmes, key incentives, financing options, competencies and trainings to help Dell partners sell Dell Storage, Networking, Server, Client and Software products, deepen expertise, drive competitive advantage, earn rewards, strengthen customer relationships and increase revenues.

As well as keynote presentations, an expo and breakout sessions, for the first time in its history the conference also included dedicated breakout sessions for the 60 top EMEA distributors in attendance.

To close the two day event, Dell hosted a ceremony at the MetaStadt in Vienna to celebrate and recognise partner and distributor successes over the past year.

Kelway was named UK Partner of the Year, highlighted for showing consistently strong growth and engagement across all lines of business during the past year.

Sarah Shields, executive director and general manager, Channel, at Dell UK, said: “We are delighted to present Kelway with this year’s 2015 Partner of the Year award in the UK. Since its days as an early adopter of Dell’s PartnerDirect model, Kelway has thrown its energy into this strategic partnership. I want to take this opportunity to personally congratulate all the team members at Kelway and those on the Dell side for making this such a fantastic relationship.”
