Martin Kent, Territory Manager UK and Eire, Hannspree UK, tells PCR what to expect from the firm at this year's Boot Camp event:

How important is it for UK retailers and resellers to connect well with customers?

It is hugely important for retailers to connect with customers. As product developments evolve education is key, not to only selling, but also to providing the service levels that customers hope to receive and which will keep them coming back. Consumers are advised over and over again to do their homework when buying anything nowadays, so to succeed it is essential to have the right tools to first attract customers and then the knowledge to be able to guide them through their purchasing decision. If you don’t connect with customers on the level they expect then they will walk away and find a retailer that will – there are plenty of buying options for the consumer and they are happy to explore them.

What products/services will you be promoting at the event this year?

We will utilise the Expo to promote our focus on touch-screen technology by unveiling exiting new entries into the monitor and tablet markets

Why should retailers look out for on your stand at PCR Retail Boot Camp?

Retailers will be able to get hands on with the new Hannspree Tablet PC range which we believe will give our customers the edge in a highly competitive market. Attendees will also be privy to a new range of monitors featuring IPS display technology

What are the key brands you carry?

‘Hannspree’ consumer electronics and ‘HannsG’ monitors

What are your predictions for the business in 2013?

The development of larger sized touch-screen devices with Android and Windows based O’s. Expect to see more increasingly larger size tablets and monitors coming to market featuring touch technology.

What distinguishes you from your competitors?

Hannspree can boast having a parent company that is the third largest touch screen manufacturer in the world, and of course we reap the benefits of Hannstouch’s OEM capabilities to meet our own brands' aspiration in terms of price quality and service. The growth of touch technology is exciting, and by leveraging our relationship with Hannstouch Hannspree is undoubtedly in a very strong position to compete in the branded sector.

What are you looking forward to most at Boot Camp?

This will be Hannspree’s first year at the PCR Boot Camp so we are looking forward to having the experience for the first time and we always welcome the opportunity to talk face to face with current and potential new partners.  I heard only positive feedback further to last year's Bootcamp
