PayPal is a great service for sending out invoices and transferring money to any of your bank accounts. It’s loved by millions of people, but there’re also some other alternatives out there that shouldn’t be overlooked, especially for those that run an online business and want to simplify the invoicing process.

One major service that shouldn’t be overlooked is Freshbooks. If you own a small business, online business, or are simply a DBA (Doing Business As), Freshbooks will make your life so much easier. And, of course, there are some other alternatives that we’ll highlight below.

An Overview Of FreshBooks

One of the major reasons Freshbooks is better than PayPal is that it makes you look professional. No more sending bland invoices to your customers. Freshbooks will let you send professional-looking invoices to your customers in a breeze. In fact, much of the invoice can be customized by you, whether it be colors, shapes, logos, and other elements.

Another neat aspect of Freshbooks is that you can share files with your clients and customers right inside Freshbooks. Imagine you’ve designed some logos for a client. You can upload those to Freshbooks and attach an invoice to that project. Once you send it over to the client, they’ll see the work you’ve done and have the invoice right there to pay.

One thing that many will find useful about Freshbooks is the charts and statistics. Using PayPal or doing invoices by hand, you have to add up your own money, create your own monthly income reports and statistics. Not with Freshbooks, as the cloud-based accounting software does it all for you. You can see how much profit you’ve made, what invoices are outstanding, how many are overdue, and much, much more.

Freshbooks also makes your business feel unique. They’ll help you create a business portfolio for whatever you do, whether it be writing, website work, or even run a local plumbing business. Whatever it is, they’ll help you get your profile up and running, make it look unique, which also helps you create those professional invoices.

Freshbooks is very useful. It has a lot of positives to it. But, to really see how useful it is, you truly do need to take it for a spin yourself. There’s no harm in it. In fact, Freshbooks offers a 30-day free trial, allowing you to see if it’ll fit your business without any risks. You can grab the link to the trial here.

Of course, if you still don’t like it, there are plenty of alternatives out there.

Other Alternatives

FreshBooks is a great service, but some might not be a fan of the cloud-based accounting software. That said, here are some other options:

Intuit

Intuit Quickbooks is a highly recommended option. It’s right up there with Freshbooks, as it’s a must-have for any small-business owner. You can do all of your standard features, such as accepting payments online or in-person. But, it also does much more than that. You can easily pay your employees with Intuit Quickbooks, calculate payroll taxes, and even file payroll tax forms quickly and easily. If you own a business and have employee’s to pay, Intuit is the way to go.

WePay

Got a website where you’re selling products or just allowing customers to make payments for services? Then WePay is one of your best routes, as it allows customers to make purchases without ever leaving your website. It makes your website look more professional, as they’re not trailing off your customers to another portal. Beyond that, WePay has some great customer service as well as top-of-the-line fraud protection. It’s certainly much better than the PayPal “Pay Now” button.

Google Wallet

Google Wallet is a great option for those that already use many of Google’s services. Wallet is just another money service that is fast, safe, and secure. It let’s you do simple and fast transfers from and to your bank account, and it has plenty of features much like PayPal, such as credit card processing and some stellar invoicing options.

Closing

And that wraps up our look over some alternatives to PayPal. Freshbooks is without a doubt the best option on this list, but it also highly depends on your preferences. Once again, there is a free trial for you to see how well it works with your business on a day-to-day basis. You’ll have to pay for a subscription after that, but it’s cheap and it’ll save you countless hours during invoicing.
