The CDWP approved 9 projects costing Rs. 9.126 billion.

Approved projects include Pakistan Social and Living Standard Measurement (PSLM) Survey (Re-Revised).Total Cost:Rs. 900.687 million, 3 projects at Total Cost: Rs.2105.993million including 60 Bed Nishter Kidney Hospital, Jalalabad, Afghanistan, 200 Bed Jinnah Hospital, Kabul, Afghanistan,100 Bed Naib Aminullah Khan LogariHospital, Logar. Establishment of sub campus UET Lahore (Revised) Total Cost: Rs. 2899.423 million, Strengthening of the University of Poonch Rawalakot (AJ&K) at total Cost:Rs.871.785 million,,Establishment of Seerat Chairs in Public Sector Universities (HEC) at total Cost:  Rs. 189.980 m. The projects at total cost: Rs. 96.937 million are approved in principal including 200 Bed Jinnah Hospital at Kabul, Afghanistan, Nishtar Kidney Centre at Jalalabad, Afghanistan, Hostel for Rehman Baba School at Kabul, Afghanistan200 Bed Jinnah Hospital at Kabul, Afghanistan at total Cost: Rs. 60.103 million, 200 Bed Jinnah Hospital at Kabul, Afghanistan, NaebAminullah Khan Logari Hospital at Logar, Afghanistn at total Cost: Rs.439.394 million, Support & Monitoring of High Impact new initiatives of Vision 2025 –  Approved in principle at total cost:  Rs.1561.36

While chairing the meeting, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal remarked, “Development strategy of government is to transform Pakistan into a Knowledge economy. Vision 2025 places top most priority to social sectors which had been neglected in the past. We have faced set back due to dharnas but the government is determined to revive the momentum for recovery of economy. The priorities of our government are reflected in highest allocations for education sector. Government is streamlining the old and sick projects and through sound planning and monitoring has curtailed waste of resources.”

Detail of approved/recommended projects is as follows:

1. Pakistan Social and Living Standard Measurement (PSLM) Survey (Re-Revised).​

Total Cost:​Rs. 900.687 million

​The data generated through this project will enable GOP in formulating the Poverty Reduction Strategy and will also provide a set of representative population-based estimates of social indicators.

2. Following 3 projects approved in principal.              Total Cost:​Rs.2105.993 million

1) 60 Bed Nishter Kidney Hospital, Jalalabad, Afghanistan.

2) 200 Bed Jinnah Hospital, Kabul, Afghanistan.

3) 100 Bed Naib Aminullah Khan Logari Hospital, Logar.

Above three projects principally approved for procurement, installation and commissioning of  medical equipments for three hospitals in Afghanistan.    Further rehabilitation.

The following project are approved in principal.      ​-​Total cost: Rs. 96.937 million

i) 200 Bed Jinnah Hospital at Kabul, Afghanistan​​

ii) Nishtar Kidney Centre at Jalalabad, Afghanistan

iii) Hostel for Rehman Baba School at Kabul, Afghanistan

7. 200 Bed Jinnah Hospital at Kabul, Afghanistan  ​​​Total Cost: Rs. 60.103 million

8. 1) 200 Bed Jinnah Hospital at Kabul, Afghanistan​

2) Naeb Aminullah Khan Logari Hospital at Logar, Afghanistn​Total Cost: Rs.439.394 million

These 3 projects are approved in principle for contingencies and escalation charges on account of HAVC Works.

While considering these projects, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal said that these projects are part of Pakistan’s Programme for assistance to Afghanistan to make a contribution towards uplift of socio-economic condition of Afghanistan. He further said that completion of these projects will provide people of Afghanistan state of the art health and education facilities

3. Establishment of sub campus UET Lahore (Revised)

Total Cost: Rs. 2899.423 million

​This project includes construction of new department buildings for electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, computer sciences, business and management departments, hostels, recruitment of staff, procurement of research and laboratory equipments etc.

4. Strengthening of the University of PoonchRawalakot (AJ&K)  Total Cost: Rs. 871.785 million

The main components of the scheme involves Civil work, lab equipment, literature requirement, furniture & fixture, IT infrastructure, Teaching aids and transport facility etc.

5. Establishment of Seerat Chairs in Public Sector Universities (HEC) - Total Cost:  Rs. 189.980 m

The objective is to establish five Seerat Chairs in universities with focus on Leadership, Gender issues, Minorities issues, business and development, and environment for creating a pro development and harmonious society in light of teachings of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

6. Support & Monitoring of High Impact new initiatives of Vision 2025 -  Approved in principle.

Total cost:  Rs.1561.36
