Did you know that this Friday is Love Your Pet day? Recognised around the world, this is the day when pet owners take the time to celebrate the relationship they share with their pets… extra attention and pampering is often involved and social media is usually flooded with images of much loved pets. This also makes it the purrfect time to share our recent review and online ordering experience with Love That Pet; an Australian pet care company. More than just an online shop, these guys also provide pet care advice written by vets and pet care experts to help you care for your furry and feathered friends.

For cat owners, the Love That Pet website includes information on a broad range of topics including behaviour & training, cat breeds, food & diet, grooming, health & wellness and travel. They offer similar advice and information for dog owners and for people who have small pets – rabbits, birds, mice etc.

The Cat Care range within their online pet store isn’t as extensive as others I’ve seen, but it’s worth noting that the products they do stock are quality, hand-picked products at competitive prices. Their selection of cat supplies and accessories includes:

beds and bedding

cat collars

flea, tick and worming products

grooming tools

training and behavioural aids

health supplements

and (saving the best for last) – CAT TOYS!

The cats always get excited when a parcel arrives, especially when it comes in a box. This was no ordinary box though – our goodies arrived beautifully packaged in a bright orange box with a lovely printed note from Tamara and Cadbury. I think Charlie could smell Cadbury’s doggy paw prints, or perhaps my clever boy has taught himself to read?

Back to the box. You’re probably wondering what we ordered? Max and Charlie investigate…

We ordered a Feliway refill – this behavioural aid helps Max to calm down and reduces his aggression towards the other cats, it also minimises Charlie’s stress levels, which is important as he has IBD. We also got a stylish blue cat collar made from soft leather and including a cute little fish-shaped bell.

The majority of our online order though, was for CAT TOYS! Interactive playtime is so important in strengthening the bond with your cats, and in our household we like to make time for daily play sessions for the benefit of both our cat’s mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Max particularly likes the Swizzle Bird Teaser, and he’ll happily fetch it, and drag it across the lounge before dropping it at my feet. Whilst this is more a dog-like behaviour, there’s no mistaking his request to play and desire to show off his natural hunting instincts.

Charlie doesn’t have a favourite toy – he likes all of them. First there’s the Pink Moppy Ball – it’s supersoft and lightweight, so it’s really easy to toss around and play with.

Next there is the Denim Ball with Feathers, made from strong fabric and very durable – although on first sight Charlie was determined to kill it. Look at that facial expression! It’s just as well I ordered two of these toys.

Lastly, the Cat Scratch Apple, which is a refillable catnip toy with a corrugated cardboard scratching surface. It’s perfect for clawing and for batting and chasing around the floor. The only downside to this toy, is the mess that it creates as the catnip escapes from the hollow inside. I think we’ll be playing with it without the catnip!

Do we recommend Love That Pet? You betcha! Love That Pet’s online pet store is super easy to navigate so ordering online was a breeze, and shipping was confirmed almost immediately, with our cat products arriving very soon afterwards.
