One of my most fond memories as a newlywed was spending our very first Christmas together as Mr&Mrs.! We got married towards the end of November 2012 so the holidays were just around the corner when we tied the knot. As a gift, my folks treated us to a holiday break in Hong Kong that December. We timed it in between Christmas and New Years, that pocket of free dates in between family engagements. Since we were checked in at Marco Polo Prince at the time, we spent most of our time shopping and eating in the nearby Harbour City. And of course, I was more than excited to see the Christmas decors that would be scattered across the mall and the lavish display that would fill the staircase near the Ocean Terminal. Needless to say, the shutterbug in me went wild with the photographs. For those planning to spend the holidays in Hong Kong, I thought I’d share some great news from my friends from Harbour City!

This year, the one-stop destination for shopping, dining, entertainment, and sightseeing is encouraging friends and families of both tourists and locals to celebrate the holidays together with its theme this season called Christmas Together. Harbour City is celebrating its 50th year, so guests can expect the holiday festivities to be bigger and better.
Everyone is invited to the “Christmas Party of Snowie” from November 10, 2016 to January 2, 2017 at the Ocean Terminal Forecourt of Harbour City. Catch thirty-two versions of the adorable snowman, Snowie, that are set up all over the area. Take photos with the hundred and fifty Snowies or with the 12-meter-tall Christmas tree made from stacks of the cute character. The kids are sure to get excited about the large carousel, that adds magic to the festive ambiance.
When guests step indoors, they’ll be transported to another magical place where Santa is Everywhere. Finnish illustrator Rami Niemi created a series of modern Santa Claus to be seen inside Harbour City. You can catch Santa in some humorous and quirky depictions as he dons a suit, shorts, and even reads emails at Harbour City’s Atrium II, Gateway Arcade, Harbour City & Atrium, and Ocean Terminal this December 1, 2016 to January 2, 2017. Rami also designed a Christmas deer rocket placed in the Gateway Arcade.
