VIA| Just days after Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch sued the state of North Carolina over its so-called “bathroom law,” likening it to Jim Crow laws, the Obama administration is doubling down on its mission.
Next target: the nation’s public schools.

In the middle of a legal fight with North Carolina over transgender rights, the Obama administration is planning to issue a sweeping decree telling every public school district in the country to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms that match their gender identity.
The letter to school districts that will go out Friday describing what they should do to ensure that none of their students are discriminated against, signed by officials of the Justice Department and Department of Education, does not have the force of law. But it contains an implicit threat: Schools that do not abide by the Obama administration’s interpretation of the law could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid.
The move is certain to draw fresh criticism, particularly from Republicans, that the federal government is wading into local matters and imposing its own values on communities across the country that may not agree. It represents the latest example of the Obama administration using a combination of policies, lawsuits and public statements to change the civil rights landscape for gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people.
After supporting the rights of gay people to marry, allowing them to serve openly in the military and prohibiting federal contractors from discriminating against them, the administration has made bathrooms its latest battleground.
Courts have not settled the question of whether the nation’s sex discrimination laws apply in matters of gender identity. But administration officials, emboldened by a federal appeals court ruling in Virginia last month, think they have the upper hand. This week, the Justice Department and North Carolina sued each other over a state law that restricts access to bathrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms.
A “decree” informing schools across the land what they should be doing is exactly what you’d expect from an emperor — like Obama.
Never mind the already-numerous examples where a child’s public safety has been violated due to policies similar to what the administration is now imposing on schools. Never mind the public outcry over the issue, evidenced in just one example by the more than a million Americans who have now boycotted retail giant Target over the issue — and their stock in free-fall.
Never mind that the Obama administration is drawing false civil rights equivalents between race and a person’s behavior and/or psychological condition– one that some psychiatrists deem a disorder:
Gender dysphoria—the official psychiatric term for feeling oneself to be of the opposite sex—belongs in the family of similarly disordered assumptions about the body, such as anorexia nervosa and body dysmorphic disorder,” according to Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University and former psychiatrist–in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital, who has studied transgendered people for 40 years.
And, of course, never mind that the President of the United States has no right to “decree” anything on his own.
Nope, never mind, none of that matters to the president who will push his own agenda — his vision for “transforming” America — at all costs.
