If you are from a country that does not offer NCLEX, and you pass CGFNS, you’ll qualify to enroll in the new PassportUSA NCLEX Prep Program.

Foreign-trained nurses who want to live and work in the United States must pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The PassportUSA program, which recruits international healthcare talent and places them in United States hospitals, requires NCLEX to enroll; however, we understand that the NCLEX isn’t offered everywhere. Therefore, PassportUSA has launched a new initiative to help more people access NCLEX.

The steps of this program are as follows:

1) Pass CGFNS
2) Apply with PassportUSA, sign contract
3) PassportUSA collects necessary documents to file Green Card
4) Once finished, candidate is enrolled in PPUSA Program
5) Begin Exclusive PPUSA NCLEX Prep

What is CGFNS?

CGFNS is really just a predictor exam and evaluation process for international nurses to realistically forecast if they’ll meet requirements for licensure as an RN in the United States. Per ImmigrationSupport.com,

The CGFNS Certification Program is designed specifically for first-level, general nurses educated and licensed outside the United States who wish to assess their chances of passing the U.S. registered nurse licensing exam, the NCLEX-RN® examination, and attaining licensure to practice as registered nurses within the United States.

The Certification Program is a three-part program, comprised of a credentials review, a one-day qualifying exam of nursing knowledge, and an English language proficiency exam. Upon successful completion of all three elements of the program, the applicant is awarded a CGFNS Certificate.

The only countries and non-member board territories that currently administer the NCLEX examinations are Australia, Canada, England, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto Rico and Taiwan. CGFNS is often the only alternative for some healthcare professionals in the absence of any NCLEX testing facility within reach.

The CGFNS Qualifying Exam can be taken in more than 100 countries at over 700 testing centers. For more on the CGFNS Qualifying Exam criteria and testing centers please visit www.cgfns.org/services/certification-program/.

NCLEX Prep Program

The NCLEX Prep Program is a rigorous prep course that will demand about four to six weeks. At the end of the NCLEX review course, you must take and complete an assessment test. Once you’ve passed that, you’ll begin an extensive NCLEX review program while PassportUSA moves forwards with your EB3 Visa petition.

When your visa is released and you are consistently meeting required NCLEX predictor scores, you’ll fly to the United States to take the actual NCLEX exam and remain there while your RN license is finalized. After that, you’ll begin your new career and life in America.
