Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions in January? With it being the first day of February, I have a month under my belt and wanted to check in with you to let you know about my progress on my Top 4 New Years Resolutions and get you to think about how you are doing with yours.

It’s a fact that many people make many resolutions in January and then are falling off the wagon even as soon as the beginning of February. How do you keep your resolutions?

I was reading some of the Top 10 Resolutions this year and only one of those fell onto my list. However, it was #1 on my list and I guess everyone else’s too!

#1 Eat Healthier

Eating healthy has been a bit of a struggle for me because I grew up just learning to cook basic foods which included a lot of casseroles and treats were always offered to me and we ate like many average American families did and still do today.

I have just learned over the last few years as I’m entering my mid thirties that there are some healthier ways to eat and I’m trying to adopt some of those principles for my family.

I’ve been reading some different books and learning about new foods and just trying to make smarter choices for my family when I can. It stresses me out a little bit to change some of my ways and feels time consuming, so I’m still working at all this.

I’ve had to spend a lot more time in the kitchen than I used to preparing more of my own food and buying less convenience items, even from the grocery store.

#2 Organize My Closet and Donate What I’m Not Wearing Anymore

I’m a pretty organized person in general. However, I think I have the hardest time getting my own closet organized because when it comes to getting rid of my own stuff, I tend to want to hold onto it all. I can clean out my household items, my kids and my husbands closet with no problem and have no ties to any of it. However, my stuff is just a different story. I think I’m going to wear it all or lose weight or gain weight, therefore needing to keep 3 sizes of clothing. I also have been attached to clothing remembering what I wore it for, or who bought it for me.

The truth is, some of it needs to go. I decided to try the method for my hanging clothes where you turn all the hangers around, and if you haven’t worn something in whatever time frame you decide (mine is 6 months), then I’ll be donating all those clothes. I figure if I don’t wear it in 6 months then I probably won’t wear it. You could set your time frame however long you wanted it.

#3 Have Friends Over More Often

I enjoy having friends over to my home because I feel like it truly deepens our relationships. I am not always the greatest at planning this, but when I do, I’m so glad. We had one family over for dinner in January, and I’d really like to have one family over each month. Some people are naturals at this, but for me it’s not my strong suit to cook for two families because I’m not naturally gifted in that area.

However, I’ve decided to pick a couple of meals and just always make those when we have company to simplify that for myself a little bit. It’s hard for me not to get caught up into the food portion of the event, but I’m trying not to so as to just enjoy the company more.

#4 Spend Less Time Shopping for Groceries and Household Items

I had a discussion with my sister this weekend on how she spends less time shopping for household essentials and groceries. I feel like I’m running to the store too often right now and not planning as well as I could. My ultimate goal is to eliminate trips to the store and determine where I can get the best price on the items I buy consistently. This will save me time and money.

I’m going to start ordering some basic household and personal care products online and then plan once a month trips for items I can get a deeper discount on in-store. I am also working on planning a once a week Walmart Grocery Pickup for my weekly groceries.

In addition to my 4th Resolution, I want to find products I love and then stick with them. I find myself always looking around and I waste a lot of time doing this. This could really help me meet my 4th Resolution of spending less time shopping for household items!

One thing I’m not trying to change is my deodorant! I don’t need to change it up because it’s doing the job of keeping me dry and fresh! When I start to worry or get anxious I start to sweat. Some people bite their fingernails or twirl their hair, but I start sweating, so I have to have a good deodorant!

With 48 hours of protection against underarm wetness and odor, it’s a perfect fit for me. I also love the scents in the Dove Advanced Care line! They’re all fresh and clean scents that are perfect for anyone.

What makes you sweat? Is it the same as it is for me, when I am worrying or anxious over something? Maybe it’s just when you exercise or in the heat of the summer? Try Dove Advanced Care Deodorant to keep your underarms feeling fresh up to 48 hours! It’s an #EssentialUpgrade you need to try for 2017!

What is your #EssentialUpgrade for 2017? I’m considering all 4 of my Resolutions Upgrades. I hope you’ll keep working on whatever you decided to do this year!
