I have recently discovered that over the past few years my Paris tips list has been circulating amongst many Sydney-siders and beyond! With my now infamous list being referred to more and more, I have decided to update and share my Paris tips with you. The list includes many of the new and exciting places I have discovered in my decade of travelling to Paris but also my favourite and trusty spots that I never miss. Below are my favourite bars, restaurants and clubs in Paris…

1ST

THE RITZ PARIS – BAR HEMINGWAY

15 Place Vendome, 75001 Paris, France.

Once the renovation is complete, the Ritz and bar Hemingway are my favourite early evening or late night rendezvous locations. The Ritz is always the best central meeting point!



HOTEL COSTE

239-241 Rue Saint Honore, 75001 Paris, France

Hotel Coste is a Parisian institution and you have to have breakfast, lunch and dinner on separate occasions in the restaurant. Make sure to sit in the terrace – the hotel has a beautiful courtyard in the centre. The hotel bar is also great to just sit and have an evening drink.



THE BEEF CLUB

58 Rue Jean Jacques Rousseau, 75001 Paris, France.

The Beef Club is the best for dinners, it always has a cool and fun vibe!



THE FISH CLUB

Located next door to The Beef Club – same owners, same vibe!

MANDARIN ORIENTAL

251 Rue Saint Honore, 75001 Paris, France

Visit the Mandarin Oriental, which is relatively new and quite beauitufl, and have a drink at the bar in the terrace. The hotel is also a great central meeting point.

LES GEORGES

19 Rue Beaubourg (Centre Georges Pompidou), 75001 Paris, France

Les Georges, located at the very top of the Pompidou Centre, has fabulous views of Paris and amazing food. Best to go for either lunch or dinner. This restaurent is often used in movies - you will probably recognise it from Sex and the City! It can be touristy but the view and experience is worth it.

LE CAFÉ MARLY

93 Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, France

Great place in the 1st for lunch and has amazing views of the Louvre Pyramid. The café is quite dressy and always full of fashion folk during Fashion Week.

ANGELINA

226 Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, France

Good for breakfast, lunch or a day-time snack. The hot chocolate and cake selection in particular is fabulous! Another spot that is a bit touristy but a Parisian institution that should not be missed.

COLETTE CAFE

213 Rue Saint Honore, 75001 Paris France

After shopping in Colette, head downstairs and visit the Colette Cafe for lunch. Yummy food and great atmosphere.

CHACHA CLUB

47 Rue Berger,  75001 Paris France

Very cool restaurant/bar/club - owned and run by the same people that own Hotel Du Nord...

CIBUS

5 Rue Moliere,  75001 Paris France

Tiny little Italian place, famous for its exclusivity and great food.

KONG BAR

1 Rue du Pont Neuf,  75001 Paris France

Modern and cool bar above the Kenzo building with original Phillipe Starck furniture and sweeping views over Paris.

2ND

LE GRAND COLBERT

4 Rue Vivienne, 75002 Paris France

Great spot for traditional French cuisine - best for dinner.

3RD

CAFE CHARLOT

38 Rue de Bretagne, 75003 Paris, France

Cafe Charlot is a great little cafe in the heart of the Marais. Make sure to stop here for brunch/lunch on the weekend and dinner is always fun.

ROSE BAKERY

46 Rue des Martyrs, 75003 Paris, France

Also in the Marais, the Rose Bakery specialises in all natural and fresh ingredients and is great for brunch/lunch as well. Get in quick as it gets very busy from lunch-time onwards...

CHEZ OMAR

47 Rue de Bretagne, 75003 Paris, France

Fabulous North African Restaurant. Best for dinner...

ANAHI

49 Rue Volta, 75003 Paris, France

Great Argentinian restairant in the Marais, but very meaty and not for the vegetarians.

LA PERLE

78 Rue Vieille du Temple, 75003 Paris, France

Grungy little bar in the Marais, also famous for being the site of John Galliano's infamous meltdown...

Great little restaurant, specialising in North African cuisine - upmarket and cool. Dinner is the best time to go...

DERRIERE

69 Rue des Gravilliers, 75003 Paris, France

Cool restaurant right near 404. Make sure to check out the many rooms within the restaurant and the smoking room upstairs. Diinner is the best time to visit Derriere.

CHEZ JULIEN

1 Rue du Pont Louis-Philippe, 75004 Paris, France

Located just behind the Marais, Chez Julien is one of my favourite spots in Paris for dinner, but good for lunch too.

Very quaint tea shop in the 4th, love the desserts...

The ultimate meat-lovers restaurant...

CAFE DE FLORE

172 Boulevarde Saint-Germain, 75006 Paris, France

A Parisian fashion institution, Cafe de Flore is a great meeting place for a drink and snack. Very touristy but a great place nonetheless. Often, you will find famous 'artsy' people here, it's an institution!

BRASSERIE LIPP

151 Boulevard Saint-Germain, 75006 Paris, France

Another Parisian institution (just opposite Cafe de Flore) the Brasserie Lipp is very tradition and very 'old world' French. Best to stop for a late dinner/supper.

LA DUREE

21 Rue Bonaparte, 75006 Paris, France

The best macaroons in the world! Take away or you can sit inside the teahouse and enjoy lunch and dessert.

LE JULES VERNE

Tour Eiffel, Avenue Gustave Eiffel, 75007 Paris, France

Located at the very top of the Eiffel Tower, Le Jules Verne is an experience. With three Michelin stars, this restaurant is expensive but the food is as extraordinary as the view…

While shopping on Avenue Montaigne, stop in at La Maison Blanche for a posh lunch or intimate dinner with a spectacular views…

CAVIAR KASPIA

Caviar Kaspia is another Parisian institution and if you love seafood, in particular caviar, then this restaurant is not one to miss! Great in the cold months because it is cosy and intimate. 

L'AVENUE

After shopping on Avenue Montaigne have lunch at L'Avenue and sit in the front terrace so you can people watch… you may want to come back here for dinner too!

Great for large group dinners...an oldy but still a goody and pulls a cool crowd. Best for dinner.

Tiny little modern French/Morrocan restaurant in the 10th. Great food!

LE CHATEAUBRIAND PARIS

Very cool and very French, stop by for lunch or dinner.

MONSIEUR BLEU

20 Avenue de New York, 75116 Paris France

Very cool new restaurant that has just opened on the left bank, overlooking the Seine. Great vibe and food to match… this has fast become a favourite.

CRISTAL ROOM BACCARAT

11 Place des Etats-Unis, 75116 Paris, France

Beautiful restaurant within the Baccarat Museum, expensive but worth it.

LE PROGRES

7 Rue des 3 Freres, 75018 Paris, France

Great little bar in Montmarte, best time to stop by is between 6-8pm. Grungy and young but good for people watching and a drink on the terrace
