Let me first say that raising money for cancer has been my personal passion for well over 22 years - something about nearly losing a young husband to the disease will do that to a woman. My passion was corralled into community effort called Four Seasons Cool October that since 1992 has raised more than $2.5 million for cancer treatment and services for the patients of the Baylor Irving Sammons Cancer Center. That effort still goes on today and I'm proud to say I was a driving force in it.

But today is a different message…as the communications director and community liaison at Park Cities Ford Lincoln Dallas - I was happily surprised when one of our salesmen suggested it would be "cool" to wear pink in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "The NFL does it, we should to," said Damion Mackey. Damion is married and has a baby on the way - lots of things to think about for a young man - and I was proud to see he was thinking about a cause that might one day affect someone he loves too.

To that end, our 150 employees rally this month to celebrate PARK CITIES PINK OUT! We are keeping it simple - wearing pink as we are so inspired throughout the month, sporting pink shirts in sales and pink argyle socks in our Service Department and showing pink balloons on our front drive facing Inwood Road. More importantly, we decided to donate a portion of our sales proceeds from New and Pre-Owned vehicle sales for the entire month to the Dallas County Chapter of Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of early detection mammograms for uninsured men and women. Our managers are each kicking in a personal contribution toward the cause too.

I am proud to work with a group of individuals- mostly men including my husband - who will stop for a moment from their daily work of selling and repairing cars and trucks, to look up and see the power of PINK!

In the words of Randall Reed, "If we all give a little, we can do a lot." So true. So true.-- Angela Enright
