I prefer to use glass in my kitchen because glass is non-toxic and dishwasher-safe. I recently review two foldable large picnic blankets from MIU COLOR, both of which I love. My kids and I often eat picnic lunches while out and about at the park or zoo. When on the go, I usually also bring a water bottle or two. Thus, when recently offered the chance to review a glass water bottle from MIU COLOR in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity.
Price
The MIU COLOR glass water bottle currently retails for $45.99 with a sale price of $22.99 on Amazon. The bottle with lid comes with a Nylon sleeve and two cleaning brushes. While I consider the retail price a bit high, I would pay the current sale price. I own another glass water bottle that cost roughly the same price. Unlike plastic, glass will last indefinitely with proper care, so I am willing to pay more for a glass water bottle that will last me for many years to come. I therefore rate the price positively.
Design
Made with high borosilicate glass, stainless steel, and food-grade rubber, the handmade glass water bottle from MIU COLOR contains no BPA, PVC, lead, or other toxic chemicals. The ultra-clear glass is solid and durable. The heat-resistant bottle holds up to 24.5 ounces of fluid. The glass bottle comes with a Nylon zippered sleeve with handle in black, gray, dark blue, or rose red and two bottle brushes for easy washing.
Performance
I received a glass water bottle with the gray sleeve from MIU COLOR. I have another glass water bottle that is encased in plastic. Because I am quite clumsy, I was a bit skeptical that a glass water bottle would last me very long. However, when I discovered that an entire pot of my four-cup coffee maker fits into the 24.5-ounce bottle, I was quickly hooked. I usually use a ceramic coffee cup for my morning java, so a glass bottle was an easy switch. Once I realized that I could put the entire pot of coffee in the bottle, I was hooked. The Nylon sleeve makes carrying the bottle around easy and further protects the durable glass from breakage. The stainless steel lid closes the bottle securely and effectively prevents leaks.
Caring for the glass water bottle from MIU COLOR is incredibly easy. The bottle comes with two brushes for easier cleaning. However, I usually wash mine in the bottom rack of my dishwasher. The borosilicate glass is incredibly durable and comes out sparkling clean each time. I do wash the lid by hand with hot soapy water. MIU COLOR does recommend soaking the rubber ring in the stainless steel cap in vinegar or tea water for two to three hours if the rubber develops an odor. However, after a few weeks of use, my lid is still in tip-top shape.
Final Verdict
I am super impressed with my glass water bottle from MIU COLOR. I can fit an entire four-cup pot of coffee in the bottle, which is constructed from heat-resistant high borosilicate glass. The handmade bottle and stainless steel with food-grade rubber ring contain no BPA, PVC, lead, or other toxic chemicals. The heat-resistant bottle holds up to 24.5 ounces of liquid and comes with a Nylon zippered sleeve. Once I realized that I could put the entire pot of coffee in the bottle, I was hooked. The Nylon sleeve makes carrying the bottle around easy and protects the durable glass from breakage and my hands from hot temperatures. If you are shopping for a new water bottle, I highly recommend the MIU COLOR glass water bottle.
