In addition to beautiful mountains, hundreds of freshwater lakes and some of the Northeast’s best skiing, Vermont boasts several great brewpubs and bars to enjoy after a long day on the slopes. From a bar that serves craft-brewed ales made on site to a lounge that serves Prohibition-dated cocktails, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy superb drinks, great food and excellent service at the following establishments:

There’s the Shed Brewery of Vermont, which is a 7-barrel brewery in Stowe and the first brewpub in the state. They make the Mountain Ale, which bills itself as “a rugged brown ale,” and it has a toasted barley taste without the citrus scent that accompanies dry hopping.

For some après-ski relaxation in Killington, try On the Rocs Lounge for Prohibition-style drinks and $5.00 Moscow Mules (Smirnoff vodka, ginger beer, lime juice, candied ginger) on Mondays. The place is a modern speakeasy lounge and their signature cocktails include the El Diablo (made with Herradura Blanco tequila, lime juice, soda water and Angostura Bitters), the Pink Pin Cherry (made with Cherry Eau De Vie, lemon juice, Peychaud’s Bitters, sparking wine and a brandied cherry) and the Mandarin Spritz (made with Hangar One Mandarin Blossom Vodka, Punt e Mes, Aperol, prosecco, club soda and an orange wheel).

The food menu is awesome and includes tapas, salads, sandwiches, several meat and pasta entrees, desserts and a kids menu. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is perfect if you’re looking for an upscale, hip dining experience with a gastropub feel.

They serve lunch, brunch and dinner here and the creative chef prepares upscale and delicious selections, such as lamb meatballs, a cherry stones and oyster appetizer, clams with chorizo and squash, and Swiss chard tamales.
