Okay, this one is a big conspiracy theory so get ready...

A while ago I remember coming across something that insinuated there was  real time traveler caught on tape in a Charlie Chaplin film. It sounds crazy, but the video clearly showed someone walking through the background of the scene with a hand cupped to their ear as if they were holding a cell phone. Cell phones of course, did not exist back then which posed a very strange question - if this person wasn't talking on a cell phone, what were they doing?

There's no doubt about it, this certainly seems like an unusual action for someone to be performing back in 1928.

But if it wasn't a time-traveler with a cell phone, what could it be?

The other popular theory and clearly the more logical answer is that it's actually just a person with a hearing aid. In fact, there's a load of evidence to support this theory. More so than the wild speculations of the device being a cell phone.

Of course, if you want to believe that it's a cell phone and this is a legitimate time-traveler caught on tape, then that's up to you. However, I'm calling this one busted.

Thankfully, let the conspiracy's reign because that's not the only evidence of time-travelers!

Let's take a look at a few more; first some viral time-traveler photos that have made their way around and then some stories from Reddit and elsewhere on the Internet, such as John Titor.

#1) Andrew Basiago - 1863

1863 - Andrew Basiago

A lawyer who claims to be part of a secret U.S. government time travelling experiment recounted his story and provided this photo for proof. He claims that no child from 1863 could have looked like that! (Source)

Unfortunately the photo is a little too small to get a great view. Even when blown up it's hard to say he looks too out of place... that might just have something to do with not growing up in 1863 though. Still, you would imagine that a child time-traveler would either look a lot MORE futuristic or he would do a better job to blend in.

#2 - Time Travelling Hipster - 1940

Time traveling hipster from the 1940's

It's the ultimate dream vacation for you iPhone-Instagram wielding junkie! The guy in this photo from the 1940's looks like he's using equipment and is generally styled like he came from at least the 1970's! (Source)

Although this is a much higher quality image, it still seems as if a real time-traveler would either stand out a lot more, or fit in a lot better. Why settle for some weird 1970's mid-point crossover? Also, call me crazy but I feel like this guy bears a slight and odd resemblance to Serj Tankian, the lead singer from System of a Down. Distant cousin perhaps? They certainly were the trendsetters then...

#3 - John Titor

I mainly found out about this one through a Wikipedia article, but it certainly is interesting. John Titor was a name that started cropping up on a discussion forum called Time Travel Institute as TimeTravel_0 and later became John Titor. He made wild predictions such as a civil war in the US which would result in all out chaos by 2008. There would also be a brief World War III which would end by 2015.

The problem with John Titor's predictions is that they basically didn't come true. 2008 has come and gone and there was certainly nothing chaotic of that sort. He also apparently sent a couple of faxes to a radio station in 1998 which predicted Y2K would be a horrible ordeal where millions of people would freeze to death. Oops!

The only hope for the John Titor case is that he described the Multiple World Theory of time-travel to be an accurate model. Basically the theory is that there are an infinite number of universes with an infinite number of possibilities. By changing in our timeline, it would not affect his past or future because they are different universes. In this sense, the chaos he described could have happened in his world and not in ours.

Overall however, there were too many inconsistencies with John Titor's own story and instances where he contradicted himself. For instance, at one point he claims money and credit cards are still widely used in his timeline, and in another post claims they are not. His story seems to have enough holes to let the water drip out one drop at a time...

#4 - Dad is a Time-Traveler!

This is the most recent story and perhaps the most interesting; as well as having the most potential for the truth. In this Reddit thread, the original poster claims that his own father might be a time-traveler! Why does he suspect this? Well, both he and his brother remember playing Angry Bird's on their dads iPad back in the late 1980's. Yeah, that certainly IS weird. I remember growing up in the early 1990's being very impressed by Mario Kart on my SNES. I'm pretty sure Angry Bird's would have blown my mind.

I don't suppose it could have been a really good memory of an Etch-a-Sketch?

Okay that's just crazy. But I do like this one best, maybe just because you can actually contact the guy and ask him questions yourself. Also, because he claims to just be as baffled as the rest of us.

In the end, who knows what really is possible! As weird as it may seem...

What do you think? Is time-travel real? Have time-traveler's from our future been visiting us already?
