Five ninth-grade girls from Denmark recently conducted a simple science experiment at their local school; it’s premise? To test the effects of cell phone radiation on humans. Unfortunately, the school did not have the sensitive equipment necessary for such an undertaking, which left the girls to test their hypotheses on plants instead. According to a recent article,
The students placed six trays filled with Lepidium sativum, a type of garden cress into a room without radiation, and six trays of the seeds into another room next to two routers that according to the girls calculations, emitted about the same type of radiation as an ordinary cellphone.
Over the next 12 days, the girls observed, measured, weighed and photographed their results. Although by the end of the experiment the results were blatantly obvious — the cress seeds placed near the router had not grown. Many of them were completely dead. While the cress seeds planted in the other room, away from the routers, thrived.
The experiment earned the girls top honors in a regional science competition and the interest of scientists around the world. (Love, 2014)
The results of this simple science project raises some serious concerns about the health-risks associated with a technology that has grown to pervade nearly every aspect of human life…
What is this all-pervasive technology that threatens the health and well-being of every human with connectivity to the worldwide data stream? The wireless signal! That’s right, folks; these girls have hit upon fairly conclusive evidence that wireless signals (namely those emitted by your cellular phone) are directly harmful to living cells and organisms. Well, this does explain why my ears have been glowing…. Guess I’d better stock up on tin cans and string!
Remember, boys and girls: You’re not paranoid if there really ARE people watching you!
