XC, Xcountry, Cross-country: The definition that is actually is quite simple, "off the beaten track." More than walk or local flight, the XC is primarily a desire to travel, the desire to have no limits, discovering new horizons, back with images in their eyes (and the camera), in short, is the desire to go on an adventure. Yes, because the Paramotor fabulous little machine lends itself more than any other machine in this kind of activity. Ridiculously short takeoff and landing, small footprint, observatory exception.
The GTX is a wing for this niche, a wing designed for adventure. For this, the specification should be more stringent. It takes a fast wing to see the country, but also a solid wing turbulence, to assume all kinds of conditions. It is imperative wing easy to inflate, to take off from unprepared terrain, such as dirt and other fields to grass. The wing will be good enough to be the consumptio is not excessive, it makes you more likely to find a service station on the way. It will be impera-pared easy to fly. Out of the question to have a gun competitive-on: XC, it may be necessary to fly in strong conditions, but also to ask the wind, take off "wind ass," or suffer other contingencies. Finally, if the wing can be handy, it's a very good point, because the XC is also profi-ter of nature being close to it, near the trees, the trees ... And for that, "one liner" is not suitable. Specifications so drastic, see what it is.
Manufacturing
Again, this is obviously solid! Tissues sturdy, beautifully crafted lines, seams well done, many positives for a wing supposed to travel, with the possibility of ending up in brambles, or even become a mattress for the night ...
Traveling, watching the scenery: the primary purpose of the GTX.

Elevators are clean and simple, far from gas plants we had before on some reflective sails, including in Paramania. The trims have a long enough clearance, which suggests a good pointer speed you. In contrast, the PK-system of the GTR is not mounted on the GTX, probably useless on this kind of wing and the public to whom it is addressed.

The design is a reference to the old style of aviation, biplane type English during the First World War. A nod to the English firm Paramania?
Position, wind always zero or very slightly "ass", small pulse, and the same is very positive: the GTX mounts effortlessly to come wedge gently above his head. Absolute feeling of lightness there, visibly, a milestone was reached in the design of reflex wings!
No more hours to wait a peti-te breeze rises "if I do not take off" ... No tendency to blo-cate at 45 ° behind the pilot not want to fall on the side or from through. Inflation without wind becomes childish, it is clear, honest, and free of burrs. Flight rando, of many times I was forced to take off crosswind because of a misguided wind relative to the ground. The technique is to inflate the wind, make a turn and refocus in the direction of takeoff. The GTX is very docile, and maneuverability makes this exercise with ease.
Etgaz!
Enough to be walking in the air, despite the modest power of the Top80. I'm surprised by a good support, I expected neck-er, and not at all! Excellent for a full reflex of only 22 m2. Off from a short field will be incredibly easy, even with a small engine! Apparently, we should not be afraid of its small surface, it does not really represent the characteristic of the GTX.
In still air:
At ground level, the conditions are always calm. Maneuverability tests to see what the "beast" in the belly of that side. First observation, despite the low power of the Top80, we did not really miss. Power is sufficient, there is a lot of "margin under the handle", which allows hiring good turns, because the GTX is

be very handy, far from "trucks reflex" for the first time! A wing that turns effortlessly, with a discussion of charge for orders short enough to really have fun! The pitch stability is amazing, the roll is sufficient, although lower compared to the GTR, of course. Wing a very healthy and manageable, which will scare anyone, and amuse everyone. Predictable, docile and amortized, it is not the kind of surprise the driver. A newbie will not be confused, a high-level driver will not be bored.

far from their knees, I want to détrimmer the GTX. Then you can feel free acceleration, and the ground starts to scroll much faster. Back at ground level, and there's another surprise, the Top80 is always enough! It allows to play with the terrain, hedgerows, dirt roads, footdrag on the track, touch the treetops ... And all this at high speed! In this configuration trims open the GTX retains its maneuverability brakes (you can use all the debate-ment), it is more just stab him pitch, the effort to control is little more important.

Slalom between trees and haystacks will be exhilarating, no need to be a great driver! The friend Christophe had just taken off with the GTR 22 m2, it takes a bit of altitude and pull the bar to the bottom for comparison rer speeds. Both devices have the same PTV, and yet I only dual of a few km / h. The manufacturer's figures, located just below those of the GTR, slow-semb be confirmed: loaded to 115 kg, 22 m2 GTX gives 48 km / h in neutral, 56 km / h détrimmé and 63 km / h full bar. Pleasant surprise as the side of the rate of climb: Full Bar, the Top 80 still happens to gain altitude without being at full throttle. In this configuration trims throttle open and supported, curves are due to orders from the wing tips are very effective to make turns well inclined if desired.

Turbulence
Back to ground the afternoon. The wind picked up, the south is well established. At the foot of the Pyrenees, is a current unhealthy because very turbulent. Too bad takeoff. Fears have been confirmed, although it moves in the air! Another driver in a conventional wiper wing closure. The GTX moves a little being trimmed, but active steering, no problem. TEST Paramania GTr - GTX
Our test driver is visibly overwhelmed by the stability of the reflex profile. In keeping with the philosophy of Paramania, which is based on a profile "really 100% reflex", it was enough to open the trim in the turbulence to make the wing "as a solid block." This is quite the opposite of a classic paragliding!
The success of this technology seems to be confirmed in Paramania: apart from the first problems on the old Paramania Action which reacted violently to the use of the accelerator when the trims were closed (combination expressly prohibited in this manual wing) , sails Paramania proven in recent years. Many pilots confirm the effectiveness of these profiles in turbulence, including détrimés!
Other manufacturers, however, are much more reserved: in case of strong turbulence, eg Ozone Speedster advised to return to the closed trimmers. One of the reasons given: as one can never exclude a close to 100%, even with a wing that proves "infermable" for hours and hours of flying in strong conditions, it is advisable not to store too much energy kinetics, it will control "just in case". The discussion around the two philosophies is far from over, but it is undeniable that the reflex full profiles Mike Campbell-Jones have already passed a "homologation" brave enough, the countless hours spent flying in the air for these years.
Sascha Burkhardt
Profile reflex - the Panacea?
And why not! If it is bala-Dait being trimmed a little hand-holding, this is the feeling of having a block on top of the head. Pitch, despite the strong gusts, sailing remains in its place quietly without showing any sign of weakness, not closing despite serious kicking the aerology Assen.
Roll, it moves a little from side to side when it is really strong. To counter this, just put an order in wing tip voltage (against the couple to kill two birds with one stone) and the phenomenon stops completely. I have to pull the accelerator in order to return to the field, Christophe falling vera gusts over 55 km / h! Full bar, it is still more stable, unperturbed. So this is the magic of reflex ... Without him, I would have been obliged to ask me along the way and wait for a car passes. For flight adventure is really the point should not be overlooked. We can reach a landing even strong conditions.
Sails fitted profiles reflex: the "4 x 4" mat? Possible, but even "all-terrain", it does not mount a vertical wall ...

TEST Paramania GTr - GTX
A little aerobatics
Obviously ... Aerobatics is not the purpose of the GTX, but it is difficult to resist the temptation to try the basic figures. Warning: aerobatics can not be improvised. Do not go in such maneuvers without experience!
The wing-over and 360 are easily skewed. This is far from the GTR (a "true soap"-who ask for it), but it is still nimble enough to be fun. The driver does not feel outdated because the GTX enough time to appreciate the maneuvers. If we look for a little more, it is possible to make beautiful and detailed wing-overs. No particular trend to close as many gliders as standard. The wing is very strong, and the brake pressure can be a very good feedback on the incidence of the wing.
For the SAT, the entrance is very easy, smooth, and is about 3/4 of a turn. The rotation is fast enough, which can be confusing if the driver is not used. Slowing more, we can greatly slow sailing SAT and lead to very large angles, 60 °, no problem! For output, it is a formality. Sometimes there is a small re-closing intérieu it will be easy to counter. 360 The following is easy to remove the veil of spring itself in a little over one turn.
Review:
If the GTR is reserved for drivers with some experience, the GTX address actually much more average pilot. Far from being a vicious wing, a pilot sided with thirty hours of flight may be perfectly comfortable in this wing, no problem, its
Passive safety is very good.
The GTX visibly responds very well to the specifications of the pilot adventures, the inflating easy and good management will take off even from places that are not suitable.
However, good speed will take you far. High stability in pitch, mixed with exciting maneuverability will have fun in all conditions, whether between large cumulus chubby, or between the trees to the ground. Finally, the resource worthy of a much larger wing facilitate landings on hazardous terrain, cross during a hike, like the garden of a friend or small clearing near a petrol station campaign. The GTX is a versatile wing, no need to choose between ease off, speed, handling and safety.
