Welcome to the Feature & Follow

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work?

The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed. All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.

Our Feature this week:

Julie & Rose from ChapterBreak.net

When did you start blogging?

Julie: We started the book blog in April 2013. I have a personal blog that I’ve had since the early 2000s!
Rose: I started blogging in April of last year (2013).

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

Julie: I love interacting with other bookworms and fangirling over our most recent favorite book.
Rose: My favorite part is the sense of community. I love how as soon as you discover that someone else loves the same books as you, you are instant besties.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

Julie: I review what I read, which varies based on book club selections and other interests. In general, I tend to post mostly YA and NA paranormal, dystopia, and some contemporary.
Rose: I love to blog about books in the genres that I like reading the most. Those genres would be YA and NA. I love me a good love story.

What is your favorite book(s)?

Julie: There is no such thing as my favorite book! It is only what book do I butterflying live at the moment (kudos if you get the references). I have a Goodreads shelf called “favorites” which has 80 some books on there. But if I had to list some off the top of my head, I would say With All My Soul by Rachel Vincent and Hopeless by Colleen Hoover.
Rose: Wow! That is like asking a mother to pick a favorite among her children. But since we all know mothers have favorites (as I clearly know I am MY mother’s favorite), some of my favorite titles would include Hopeless by Colleen Hoover and Easy by Tammara Webber. Oh! And Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan and Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Julie: Getting to meet so many wonderful authors and having an excuse to go to fun bookish events!
Rose: I have really enjoyed getting to meet new book lovers and the traveling! I have been to Dallas, and am going to Portland, Oregon in two weeks.

This weeks Question:

Recommend some of your favorite back-list books – books that are at least a few years old (I’m thinking 5-10 years old rather than classics)

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty (Sleeping Beauty, #1) A.N. Roquelaure (aka Anne Rice – if you want S&M erotica – go here!)

Blood and Chocolate by Klause, Annette Curtis – pretty well known but a fave

You Suck (A Love Story, #2) by Christopher Moore (a bit of comedy – this one is great)

The Mummy  by Anne Rice (One of her lesser known novels – this is one of my faves)

New Feature! Next weeks question will be an Activity.

Spring is in the air! Show off your favorite outdoors reading spot. If you don’t go outside…well where else do you read that isn’t inside your house? We want pics! – PJ Note – I WISH!!! It’s like 30 degrees here. When will Spring Cometh?
