And All That Were Left Were Monsters (AATWLWM or Monsters) is an up-and-coming one-man show hailing from Truro and Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. This finely crafted blend of electronic and traditional rock configurations is a complete solo project by multi-instrumentalist, producer and remixer TJ Webb (tjtheremixer). With a background in punk, grunge and alternative bands and then moving into remixing and playing with electronic music, Webb has what it takes to produce the next unique toe-tapper.
The first single ‘God Complex’ with five new tracks will be coming out in a few days on July 29th on ReverbNation for $1.29 USD per track, and will also stream on Facebook and ReverbNation for free. It will also be available in brick and mortar stores as well. Not only will the first single be released, but the first album as well. ‘Volume One’ with seven tracks will be available online but not in brick and mortar stores just yet. All songs will be streaming on Monday on SoundCloud as well, so you’ll have plenty of ways to listen to this great up-and-coming band. Keep your ears and eyes to the ground for information on live shows around Nova Scotia, and don’t forget to check out the official website for updates as well!
Monsters is not just another band amongst the many that attempt to stand out in the young and artistic center of Nova Scotia. TJ Webb is setting himself apart by donating half of his profit from each of the sales on ReverbNation ($0.56 USD per track) to Half the Sky Movement. This organization was created to put an end to the oppression of women and girls worldwide by turning it into opportunity. Those that want to learn more can visit the movement online at www.halftheskymovement.org or purchase the best-seller Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. Monsters made an admirable choice by funding this cause because it adds a personal message to their music and all of a sudden the band name, And All That Were Left For Monsters, has meaning. Webb hopes to release as much material as possible with a 50/50 split with this charity, but will also stream his music online for his fans.
Tracks on the single include a wide range of musical tastes; from pop to punk and heavy metal to industrial, Monsters holds their own sound through the mastering of many. Webb is far from becoming a one trick zombie that continuously reproduces the same tiresome groan. While listening to five highly unique tracks, names such as Daft Punk, Nine Inch Nails and In Flames came up, as well as the Silent Hill video game sound track (eerie).
